Summary

This 2020 Ferrari 812 GTS represents a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage example of one of the last front-engined, naturally aspirated V12 convertibles ever produced. With just 13,500 km, this vehicle has been driven well below the typical GCC annual average, ensuring it remains in peak mechanical condition for a serious collector or enthusiast. The Silver exterior is a premier resale color in the local market, offering excellent value retention and broad appeal. As a convertible, it provides a visceral soundtrack that turbocharged rivals simply cannot match, making it the definitive choice for driving enthusiasts in the region. For a GCC buyer, the primary consideration is its Korean regional spec, which offers a high feature set at a more accessible entry point than local-spec alternatives.

This Car vs Other 2020 812 GTSs

With only 13,500 km on the odometer, this car is a low-mileage standout in the GCC market, where exotic cars often accumulate mileage quickly on long inter-city highway runs. Silver is widely regarded as one of the safest and most liquid colors for resale in the UAE and wider Gulf, typically holding its value better than more niche shades. This specific unit offers a significant mileage advantage over the average 2020 model currently available, representing a well-preserved investment.

GTS vs Lower Trims

The GTS is the open-top evolution of the 812 Superfast, adding a Retractable Hard Top (RHT) that transforms the cabin in just 14 seconds. Unlike previous limited-run Ferrari V12 spiders, the GTS is a full production model that incorporates the Superfast's entire performance suite, including the Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 and Electric Power Steering. This trim adds the electric rear wind-stop, allowing drivers to enjoy the V12’s high-frequency shriek even with the roof closed.

812 vs Segment Rivals

The Ferrari 812 GTS leads its segment in raw power, outperforming the Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster in daily drivability and the Aston Martin DBS Volante in pure track capability. Its naturally aspirated engine provides a linear power delivery and immediate throttle response that turbocharged competitors lack. While rivals may offer all-wheel drive, the Ferrari’s rear-wheel-drive setup paired with advanced rear-wheel steering offers a more surgical and engaging driving experience on the UAE’s perfectly paved highways.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this V12 typically averages around 16.4 L/100km, though stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh can see this figure increase significantly. As a Korean spec vehicle, it provides excellent value but may require specialized insurance and lacks the local dealer warranty associated with GCC-spec cars. Service intervals are time-based, typically every 12 months, and are easily managed through authorized Ferrari centers in major GCC hubs like Al Tayer Motors or Fast Auto Technic. Depreciation for the 812 GTS has remained remarkably stable in the GCC due to the diminishing availability of naturally aspirated V12 engines.

Performance & Capability

Propelled by a hand-assembled 800 hp engine, the 812 GTS reaches 200 km/h in just 8.3 seconds, a testament to its racing-derived DNA. The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission delivers shifts that are virtually instantaneous, perfect for high-speed overtaking on the E11. Advanced aerodynamics, including active flaps at the rear, ensure the car remain stable at its 340 km/h top speed. Despite its supercar performance, the front-mid engine layout provides a balanced chassis that is surprisingly comfortable for weekend trips between Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The two-seat cockpit is a masterclass in driver-focused ergonomics, featuring the signature Ferrari 'Manettino' dial to adjust vehicle dynamics on the fly. In the GCC’s intense heat, the powerful climate control system and high-quality leather seating provide a refined environment, while the retractable hard top offers superior thermal insulation compared to traditional fabric roofs. The 210-litre boot capacity is intelligently designed to accommodate enough luggage for a luxury weekend getaway, making it one of the most versatile supercars in its class.

Safety

This GTS comes equipped with a sophisticated suite of electronic aids, including Side Slip Control (SSC) 5.0 and Ferrari Power Oversteer (FPO), which provide a safety net when exploring the car's 800 hp limits. Standard safety features include carbon-ceramic brakes for fade-free stopping power in high temperatures and high-performance LED headlights for superior visibility during desert night drives. The inclusion of a 360-degree camera and front/rear parking sensors is particularly beneficial for navigating tight urban parking environments in the UAE.

The bottom line

This 812 GTS is the perfect acquisition for a buyer seeking the ultimate naturally aspirated V12 experience with low mileage and a high-resale color profile. It offers world-class performance and open-top exclusivity at a price point that reflects its unique regional specification.
