Summary

This 2020 Nissan Patrol SE T2 offers a balanced entryway into the GCC's most iconic SUV lineage, combining legendary durability with modern tech. While its mileage is typical for a well-utilised regional cruiser, its black exterior remains one of the most sought-after colors for resale across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The SE T2 trim is a smart choice, providing essential upgrades like a sunroof and remote start without the higher running costs of the V8. It stands out in the segment for its immense cabin space and superior air conditioning performance, which are non-negotiable for local summers. For a buyer seeking a reliable family workhorse that holds its value better than almost any rival, this Patrol is a premier candidate.

This Car vs Other 2020 Nissan Patrols

With 118,213 km on the clock, this Patrol has been driven roughly 23,000 km per year, which is perfectly aligned with the GCC average for long-distance highway commuting. The black exterior is a high-demand color in the local used market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention than more niche shades. Compared to others of the same year, this unit retains a clean, factory-standard appearance that appeals to traditional buyers.

SE T2 vs Lower Trims

The SE T2 trim significantly improves daily usability over the base XE by adding a remote engine starter, which is essential for pre-cooling the cabin during GCC summers. It also introduces a power tailgate, a sunroof, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, alongside the Intelligent Rear View Mirror that provides a clear camera feed even when the cargo area is fully loaded. These features make it a much more comfortable family vehicle than the entry-level configurations.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Patrol leads its primary rival, the Toyota Land Cruiser, in terms of sheer interior volume and third-row legroom, making it the preferred choice for large families. Its massive 140-litre fuel tank allows for fewer stops on cross-border drives between emirates or across the Saudi border compared to the smaller tanks found in the Ford Expedition or GMC Yukon. The Patrol's air conditioning system is also widely regarded as the most powerful in the segment for maintaining low temperatures in extreme heat.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 offers a more economical daily driving experience than the V8, with real-world consumption averaging around 11.8L/100km on highways and roughly 15-17L/100km in heavy city traffic. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from the highest possible resale value in the region, typically depreciating at a slower rate of 8-10% annually. Maintenance is straightforward and affordable thanks to a massive network of authorized service centers and readily available spare parts in every GCC country.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 275 hp V6 engine, this Patrol is engineered for smooth highway overtaking and reliable off-road performance. It features a robust four-wheel-drive system with a selectable low-range transfer case and a rear differential lock, ensuring it is as capable in the Liwa dunes as it is on the E11 highway. The 3,500 kg braked towing capacity also makes it a versatile choice for weekend adventures involving trailers or boats.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is exceptionally spacious, with a second row that offers generous reclining functions for long-distance comfort. The cabin is specifically insulated against GCC heat and road noise, featuring powerful dual-zone climate control with dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure every passenger stays cool. Practical touches like the cooled center console box are perfect for keeping beverages chilled during long summer drives.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera with predictive course lines, and multiple airbags (driver, passenger, side, and curtain). Active systems like Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control provide extra confidence when navigating steep terrain or sandy inclines, while the Tire Pressure Monitoring System ensures safety during high-speed highway travel in varying temperatures.

The bottom line

This Patrol SE T2 is the ideal match for a family looking for a prestigious, go-anywhere SUV that balances premium features with the long-term reliability of a V6 powertrain.
