Summary

This GCC-spec 2020 Nissan Patrol SE T2 offers the ideal balance of legendary off-road capability and everyday urban practicality. While its mileage is typical for a 6-year-old vehicle in the region, the V6 powertrain provides a more fuel-efficient entry point into the Patrol lifestyle compared to the larger V8 models. Finished in Grey—a versatile and high-resale color for the Middle East—this SUV remains a top choice for families requiring eight seats without sacrificing desert-ready hardware. The SE T2 trim is particularly sought after for adding essential tech like a power liftgate and remote start while maintaining the rugged durability the model is known for. For any buyer in the UAE or wider GCC, the ease of maintenance and massive parts availability make this one of the safest used purchases available.

This Car vs Other 2020 Patrols

At 150,000 km, this vehicle sits at the average mileage expected for a 6-year-old SUV in the GCC, where long-distance highway commutes are the norm. The Grey exterior is a highly strategic choice for the local market, offering significantly better resale liquidity and heat management than darker shades. Choosing a V6 model from this year provides a mechanical advantage in city traffic thanks to its 7-speed automatic's tight gearing and lower daily running costs.

SE T2 vs Lower Trims

The SE T2 is a significant step up from the base XE trim, introducing premium features that are essential for the GCC climate, such as a remote engine starter to pre-cool the cabin. It also adds a powered tailgate, sunroof, and roof rails, which provide both convenience for family shopping and a more rugged aesthetic. Inside, the inclusion of the Intelligent Rear View Mirror and a larger infotainment display elevates the tech experience over the more basic entry-level variants.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol leads the Toyota Land Cruiser and Ford Expedition in terms of pure cabin width and third-row accessibility for large families. Its 140-litre fuel capacity is designed specifically for cross-border GCC travel, often outlasting rivals on long desert stretches between refueling points. Furthermore, the Patrol’s independent rear suspension offers a more composed highway ride than body-on-frame competitors that still utilize solid rear axles.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 delivers a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 14-15 L/100km, which can rise to 17 L/100km in heavy Dubai or Riyadh stop-start traffic with full air conditioning. Maintenance is exceptionally straightforward, with authorized Nissan service centers available in almost every major city across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. The Patrol maintains one of the highest value retention rates in the region, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually, far outperforming European luxury SUV rivals.

Performance & Capability

With 275 hp and 394 Nm of torque, this V6 is a surprisingly spritely performer in urban environments while remaining unstressed at 120 km/h highway speeds. It features a genuine low-range transfer case and selectable terrain modes—Sand, Rock, Snow, and On-road—making it fully capable of weekend dune bashing. The 273 mm ground clearance ensures it can navigate technical wadi terrain and high curbs with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

This eight-seater configuration is designed for maximum family logistics, featuring a massive cooled center console box that is a lifesaver during the peak GCC summer. The multi-zone climate control system is widely regarded as one of the most powerful in the segment, ensuring even the third-row passengers remain cool in 45°C+ temperatures. Cabin insulation is excellent, effectively hushed against wind noise during high-speed highway cruising.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the SE T2 includes a comprehensive six-airbag system, front and rear parking sensors, and a high-resolution rearview camera. Active safety features such as Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control are particularly useful for maintaining stability on steep sand dunes or gravel tracks. The sturdy body-on-frame construction provides a fundamental level of passive protection that is highly valued by safety-conscious family buyers in the region.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a dependable, eight-seat family icon that handles the mall and the desert with equal poise, this well-maintained V6 Patrol is the most logical value-for-money choice on the market today.
