• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• 405 litres of boot space

Summary

This 2020 Nissan Sentra SV represents the first year of a total generational overhaul, moving the model into a significantly more premium segment. Finished in high-resale White, this GCC-spec sedan offers a much wider and more planted stance than previous years, providing better highway stability for long drives across the Emirates. With 84,000 km, the mileage is slightly below the regional average for a four-year-old car, making it a reliable choice for daily commuting. It stands out in the compact segment for its superior cabin materials and a quiet ride that punches above its weight class. For the GCC buyer, the combination of Nissan's legendary air conditioning performance and a massive service network makes this a low-stress ownership proposition.

This Car vs Other 2020 Sentras

With 84,000 km on the odometer, this Sentra has been driven roughly 21,000 km per year, which is below the typical GCC average of 25,000 km. The White exterior is the most sought-after color in the regional used market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention than darker shades. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it avoids the insurance and warranty complications often found with imported American or European models.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim is a significant upgrade over the base S, adding 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and a more sophisticated 7-inch Advanced Drive-Assist digital display in the gauge cluster. Inside, it features a larger 8-inch multi-touch display with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with Intelligent Cruise Control which is essential for relaxed highway cruising between Emirates. You also get the convenience of the Nissan Intelligent Key with push-button start and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Sentra vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra, the Sentra leads with its zero-gravity seat technology, which significantly reduces fatigue during long-distance drives to Oman or Abu Dhabi. Its 2.0L engine offers a more refined power delivery than the smaller base engines found in rivals, while the 405-litre boot provides practical space that competes well in the compact sedan class. The Sentra's lower, wider stance also provides a more modern and premium aesthetic than its more utilitarian competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The Sentra is highly efficient for its class, returning a manufacturer-official 7.1 L/100km, which helps keep fuel costs low during heavy city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Nissan maintains one of the most robust service networks across the GCC, ensuring that parts are affordable and specialized technicians are available in every major city. Japanese sedans like the Sentra typically see a lower annual depreciation rate of around 10% compared to European rivals, making it a sound financial choice.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L 4-cylinder engine produces a reliable 149 horsepower, offering smooth acceleration for city merging and stable performance at highway speeds. The Xtronic CVT has been specifically tuned for the region to mimic traditional gear shifts, providing a more engaging feel during overtaking. Its newly developed multi-link rear suspension ensures a level of ride comfort and handling precision that was previously reserved for larger executive sedans.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed to handle the extreme GCC summer with a high-output air conditioning system and dedicated dual-zone controls for the front passengers. The SV trim's premium cloth seats are more breathable in high temperatures than leather, while the acoustic glass helps insulate the cabin from outside heat and road noise. Practical features include three USB ports—including one USB-C—ensuring all passengers stay connected during family road trips.

Safety

Every 2020 Sentra comes equipped with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite as standard, a major advantage in this segment. This includes Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are invaluable for navigating fast-moving highway traffic. Additional protection is provided by a class-leading 10-airbag system and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, which monitors two cars ahead to anticipate potential hazards before they occur.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Sentra SV is the perfect choice for a commuter or small family looking for a modern, tech-rich sedan with below-average mileage and the region's best resale color.
