Summary

This 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser VXR is a rare find in the GCC market, combining the torque-rich 4.5L V8 diesel engine with exceptionally low mileage for its age. While most regional examples accumulate over 25,000 km annually, this unit has been sparingly driven, preserving its mechanical integrity and cabin freshness. The VXR trim represents the high-water mark for the 200 Series, offering a significant jump in luxury over the GXR with four-zone climate control and premium cabin materials. For the long-distance GCC traveler, the factory-fitted dual fuel tanks and the massive reliability of the diesel V8 make this an unbeatable investment. The classic white exterior further cements its position as one of the strongest resale assets in the UAE and wider region.

This Car vs Other 2020 Land Cruisers

With just 28,528 km on the odometer, this Land Cruiser has covered less than half the distance of a typical GCC vehicle of the same age. In a market where high-mileage highway cruisers are the norm, this example stands out as a 'fresh' mechanical specimen. The white exterior is the highest-demand color in the GCC, ensuring maximum liquidity and value retention compared to darker shades.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim elevates the 200 Series experience by adding four-zone independent climate control, which is essential for passenger comfort during peak GCC summers. It typically features upgraded leather upholstery, a cooled center console refrigerator, and a superior multi-speaker audio system compared to the GXR. The VXR also benefits from enhanced exterior styling cues and advanced safety tech like the 360-degree Multi-Terrain Monitor for easier parking and off-roading.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Against its primary rival, the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser leads with its body-on-frame durability and the availability of this high-torque diesel V8. Its 138-litre fuel capacity provides a significantly greater touring range for cross-border drives to Oman or Saudi Arabia than most petrol-powered competitors. The Toyota also maintains a historically tighter depreciation curve, making it the smarter long-term financial choice in the UAE.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.5L diesel V8 is known for its efficiency during long-distance highway cruises, typically averaging around 9.5L/100km on the combined cycle. Maintenance is supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the GCC, with parts available in even the most remote areas. As a GCC-spec Land Cruiser, it enjoys the highest possible resale confidence and slower depreciation than American or European imports.

Performance & Capability

The 235 hp V8 diesel engine is all about low-end grunt, producing a massive 615 Nm of torque that makes highway overtaking and heavy towing effortless. Equipped with a genuine low-range transfer case and Crawl Control, it is designed to handle the softest desert sands and steepest dunes across the Emirates. Its 3,500 kg braked towing capacity makes it the go-to choice for hauling boats or horse trailers with total stability.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat cabin is a sanctuary from the heat, featuring powerful dual air conditioning units with dedicated rear vents that can cool the entire interior in minutes. The VXR's premium leather seating and acoustic glass provide a quiet, refined environment even at high highway speeds. Practical touches like the integrated refrigerator in the center console ensure cold drinks are always available during long desert road trips.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a comprehensive suite of airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Active Traction Control (A-TRC) to maintain grip on loose sand or gravel. The VXR trim adds critical driver aids such as Blind Spot Monitoring and a 360-degree camera system, which are invaluable for navigating large SUVs through fast-moving urban traffic in cities like Dubai and Riyadh.

The bottom line

This low-mileage VXR diesel is the ultimate choice for a GCC buyer who demands maximum range, legendary reliability, and the highest possible resale value in the SUV segment.
