Summary

This 2020 Land Cruiser VXR offers a compelling buying opportunity, combining one of the most durable powertrains in the GCC with exceptionally low mileage for a six-year-old vehicle. Averaging fewer than 7,000 km per year, this SUV has been driven significantly less than the typical UAE average, preserving its mechanical longevity. The black exterior remains a top-tier choice for resale value in the local market, ensuring strong asset protection for the next owner. As a VXR trim, it provides the full suite of luxury and safety tech that makes the Land Cruiser a regional icon for both daily executive use and long-distance desert expeditions. For a buyer seeking the ultimate balance of off-road hardware and cabin refinement, this low-mileage example is a standout choice.

This Car vs Other 2020 Land Cruisers

With only 41,923 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits well below the typical 120,000–150,000 km range expected for a car of this age in the GCC. This low usage represents a significant advantage in terms of wear and tear on the suspension and drivetrain. The black-on-beige configuration is among the most desirable in the region, providing a significant edge in future resale liquidity compared to less common colors.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim is a substantial upgrade over the GXR, adding the comprehensive Toyota Safety Sense suite including adaptive cruise control and lane departure alerts. Inside, the VXR distinguishes itself with a 14-speaker JBL premium sound system, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera system that is essential for maneuvering a vehicle of this size. It also features more advanced off-road assistance software, such as the Multi-Terrain Monitor, which are not standard on entry-level trims.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser leads in long-term value retention and parts availability across the entire GCC, including smaller towns and cross-border routes. Its 110-litre fuel tank provides superior touring range for long desert drives between Emirates, while the interior cooling system is widely regarded as the benchmark for handling 45°C+ summer peaks. The body-on-frame construction offers a level of durability that monocoque rivals like the Land Rover Discovery cannot match in extreme off-road conditions.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 engine is engineered for reliability in high-heat environments, with real-world fuel consumption averaging approximately 12.9 L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the Middle East, ensuring low-cost maintenance even outside major cities. This model is famous for having the slowest depreciation rate in the GCC SUV market, often retaining over 65% of its value after five years of use.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 engine provides smooth, linear power delivery that is perfectly suited for both highway overtaking and technical sand driving. The VXR's sophisticated Crawl Control system automatically manages throttle and braking at low speeds, allowing the driver to focus entirely on steering through challenging terrain. With a full-time All Wheel Drive system and a low-range transfer case, this vehicle is as capable on a weekend desert crossing as it is comfortable on a high-speed commute to Abu Dhabi.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat cabin is designed for GCC family logistics, featuring a powerful four-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents to keep all passengers cool during summer. Premium leather upholstery and wood-grain accents provide a refined environment, while the cooled center console refrigerator is a vital feature for long regional road trips. Sound insulation is excellent, effectively shielding the interior from wind noise and exterior heat even at highway speeds.

Safety

This VXR trim is equipped with a full suite of active safety technologies, including Pre-Collision System with pedestrian detection, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. These systems are particularly valuable for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways like E11. Standard front and rear parking sensors paired with the surround-view camera ensure total visibility, while a comprehensive airbag system provides peace of mind for family transport.

The bottom line

This is an ideal choice for a buyer who wants the prestige and capability of a Land Cruiser VXR but insists on the mechanical freshness of a low-mileage vehicle.
