Summary

This Bentley Flying Spur W12 is a standout choice in the GCC used market, offering the flagship 12-cylinder engine that has since been announced for discontinuation. With 74,000 km over five years, the mileage is perfectly average for a high-end GCC commuter, suggesting regular, healthy use across the UAE's well-maintained highways. The Blue exterior is a sophisticated alternative to the common monochromatic fleet, maintaining strong desirability for local resale. As the W12 trim, it commands a premium for its effortless power and superior chassis technology compared to the V8. For any buyer in the region, the combination of a GCC-spec cooling system and the prestige of the W12 badge makes this a highly stable investment in luxury.

This Car vs Other 2021 Flying Spurs

At 74,000 km, this vehicle sits right at the expected average for a five-year-old executive sedan in the GCC, where 15,000 km per year is the standard benchmark. This indicates the car has been driven enough to keep its complex mechanical and air suspension systems in optimal working order, avoiding the common issues associated with 'garage queens' in high-heat environments. The Blue finish is a classic, high-resale choice that stands out in the Dubai or Riyadh luxury car landscape.

W12 vs Lower Trims

The W12 trim is the definitive flagship, adding the 6.0L twin-turbocharged engine that provides 626 hp—a significant jump over the V8's 542 hp. Crucially for GCC drivers, this trim includes Bentley Dynamic Ride (48V electronic anti-roll bars) and All-Wheel Steering as standard, features that are often expensive options on lower trims. These systems allow the car to mask its weight on fast highway curves and navigate tight city parking with the agility of a much smaller sedan.

Flying Spur vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Rolls-Royce Ghost or the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, the Flying Spur W12 is the driver’s choice, offering significantly more athletic handling without sacrificing rear-cabin serenity. Its active all-wheel-drive system is particularly adept at managing the high-speed stability required for long-distance hauls between the Emirates. While rivals focus almost exclusively on the rear seat, the Bentley provides a 12.3-inch rotating display and a level of engagement that satisfies the owner-driver.

Running Costs & Resale

The W12 powertrain requires premium 98-octane fuel to maintain its performance, with a combined real-world consumption of roughly 15.0 L/100km. Service intervals are strictly every 16,000 km or 12 months, and with 74,000 km on the clock, this car is approaching its major four-year technical refresh, which is well-supported by Bentley’s extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. While luxury sedans face initial steep depreciation, W12 models typically stabilize better than their V8 counterparts as the engine enters collectibility.

Performance & Capability

The headline is a top speed of 333 km/h, a figure that places this four-door sedan in supercar territory. The 900 Nm of torque ensures that highway overtaking is instantaneous and effortless, even in the peak of the GCC summer when smaller engines might struggle. The standard air suspension with three-chamber air springs allows you to toggle between a supple 'Comfort' mode for city bumps and a taut 'Sport' mode for high-speed stability.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a showcase of hand-stitched leather and book-matched wood veneers, featuring 5 seats with multi-zone climate control essential for the local climate. Both front and rear passengers enjoy ventilated and massaging seats, ensuring comfort during the hottest months. The interior is exceptionally well-insulated, utilizing acoustic glass to keep the desert wind and road noise out of the 'sanctuary' cabin.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite including a 360-degree Top View camera, which is vital for maneuvering a vehicle of this length in busy urban areas. Active safety features such as Traffic Sign Recognition, Blind Spot Assist, and Emergency Brake assist are standard, providing peace of mind during fast-paced highway commutes. The heavy-duty braking system, featuring 420mm front discs, is designed to bring this 2.4-ton masterpiece to a halt with repeatable precision.

The bottom line

This 2021 W12 is the ideal acquisition for the executive who wants the peak of Bentley's internal combustion engineering before the era of the 12-cylinder engine closes forever. It offers a perfect balance of documented GCC use and flagship specifications, making it a reliable yet prestigious daily driver.
