Summary

This 2021 Autobiography P400 represents the sweet spot of the fourth-generation Range Rover, pairing the refined Ingenium straight-six mild-hybrid engine with the highest available luxury specification. Black on black remains the most coveted combination for resale across the Emirates, ensuring strong value retention compared to more niche colors. With 113,000 km, this vehicle has been used primarily for long-distance highway travel, which is common in the GCC and often results in less mechanical wear than stop-start city driving. For a local buyer, the combination of GCC regional specs and the premium Autobiography trim makes this a highly prestigious daily driver that handles summer heat with ease. The P400 powertrain offers a more efficient alternative to the V8 without sacrificing the effortless cruising ability required for cross-emirate trips.

This Car vs Other 2021 Range Rovers

At 113,000 km, this vehicle sits slightly above the average for a 2021 model in the UAE market, but this is typical for flagship SUVs used for frequent commutes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Its black exterior is a primary driver for resale value in the GCC, as it is among the three most liquid colors in the regional used market. The GCC specification is a critical advantage here, ensuring the cooling systems and air conditioning are optimized for 45°C+ summer peaks.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY P400 vs Lower Trims

The Autobiography trim is a significant leap over the HSE and Westminster editions, most notably adding the 24-way adjustable massaging front seats and executive class power-recline rear seating. Tech-focused GCC buyers will appreciate the standard 1,700-watt Meridian Signature Sound system and the Head-Up Display, which are often expensive options on lower tiers. It also includes Terrain Response 2 and a locking rear differential as standard, providing superior traction on soft sand surfaces compared to the base models.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Lexus LX 570, the Range Rover offers a more sophisticated air suspension system that provides superior ride comfort on paved highways while offering a higher maximum ground clearance of 295 mm. Against the Mercedes-Benz GLS, this model leads in off-road hardware, featuring a dedicated two-speed transfer case for low-range crawling. The P400's mild-hybrid straight-six also provides a smoother, more modern power delivery than the older naturally aspirated engines found in some regional competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The P400 mild-hybrid powertrain delivers a combined real-world fuel consumption of approximately 10.5 L/100km, making it one of the more economical full-size luxury SUVs for city commuting in Riyadh or Dubai. Maintenance is supported by an extensive network of authorized Al Tayer and Euro Motors centers across the GCC, with major service intervals typically occurring every 12,000 km. While European flagships generally depreciate faster than their Japanese counterparts, the Autobiography trim historically retains a higher percentage of its value due to its high demand in the secondary luxury market.

Performance & Capability

The turbocharged 3.0L inline-six produces 400 hp and 550 Nm of torque, enabling a verified 0–100 km/h sprint of 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 225 km/h. For weekend adventures, the 900 mm wading depth and advanced Terrain Response 2 system allow for confident navigation through wadis and desert trails. The adjustable air suspension is particularly useful in the GCC, lowering for easy entry in mall parking lots and raising to clear obstacles during off-road excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the Gulf climate, featuring perforated Semi-Aniline leather seats that are both ventilated and heated in the front and rear. The four-zone climate control system allows rear passengers to maintain their own temperature settings, essential for family trips during the summer months. Acoustic laminated glass ensures the interior remains a silent sanctuary, insulating passengers from both desert heat and high-speed wind noise on the E11 highway.

Safety

This Autobiography comes standard with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist, which is ideal for reducing fatigue on long desert drives. Safety is further enhanced by a 360° Surround Camera system for maneuvering in tight urban spaces and Blind Spot Assist to help navigate fast-moving multi-lane traffic. Lane Keep Assist and Emergency Braking provide additional layers of protection for both city and highway environments.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants the ultimate Range Rover luxury experience without the high fuel overhead of a V8, this GCC-spec Autobiography is a perfectly maintained high-status choice. Its classic color scheme and top-tier equipment list make it one of the most desirable listings currently available in the regional market.
