Summary

This 2021 Nissan Armada SL is a formidable full-size SUV that bridges the gap between rugged utility and executive comfort. With its silver exterior—a top-tier choice for heat reflection and resale value in the GCC—this low-mileage example offers a powerful 5.6L V8 engine perfect for long highway hauls across the Emirates. The SL trim provides a significantly more premium interior than the base models, making it ideal for large families who need eight seats without sacrificing tech. While this is an American spec vehicle, the Armada's mechanical shared DNA with the Nissan Patrol ensures parts and expert service are readily available across the region.

This Car vs Other 2021 Armadas

With 98,000 km on the odometer, this Armada sits comfortably within the expected mileage for a three-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where long-distance commuting is the norm. The silver paint is not only practical for the desert sun but remains one of the fastest-selling colors in the UAE used market. Compared to higher-mileage alternatives, this vehicle maintains a tight mechanical feel and a well-preserved leather interior.

SL vs Lower Trims

The SL trim is the sweet spot for GCC buyers, adding essential luxury features that the SV lacks. You get a power-sliding moonroof, leather-appointed seating, and the highly desirable 13-speaker Bose premium audio system. Crucially for parking in tight mall spaces, the SL includes the Intelligent Around View Monitor (360° camera) and a power liftgate as standard.

Armada vs Segment Rivals

The Armada stands out against the Chevrolet Tahoe and Ford Expedition by utilizing a rugged body-on-frame architecture shared with the legendary Nissan Patrol. It leads the segment in standard horsepower with its 400 hp V8, providing superior overtaking confidence on fast-moving highways like the E11. Its 3,856 kg towing capacity also outperforms many monocoque competitors, making it a favorite for weekend boat or trailer hauling.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 averages around 15.4 L/100km, though highway cruising often sees improved figures near 12.9 L/100km. As a global platform shared with the Patrol, parts are stocked by almost every major independent shop and authorized center from Dubai to Riyadh. While American spec vehicles typically depreciate slightly faster than GCC spec, the Armada's reputation for 300,000 km+ durability helps it retain value better than many European luxury SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 5.6-litre Endurance V8 delivers a massive 560 Nm of torque, allowing this large SUV to reach 100 km/h in approximately 6.7 seconds. Its heavy-duty ladder frame and auto-leveling rear suspension make it incredibly stable when fully loaded with eight passengers and luggage. Whether you are navigating city traffic or heading out for a desert camping trip, the 7-speed automatic provides smooth, predictable power delivery.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for long-distance family comfort, featuring a class-leading 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay. The SL trim's leather interior is paired with a dual-zone climate control system that includes secondary 'curtain' vents to ensure the third row stays cool even in 45°C summer heat. Acoustic glass and improved insulation make this one of the quietest cabins in its class for highway cruising.

Safety

This Armada comes equipped with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite, which is vital for high-speed GCC highway driving. It includes Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Intervention, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The standard 360-degree camera system provides a bird's-eye view, making the vehicle's large footprint easy to manage in crowded urban environments.

The bottom line

For the GCC family that needs the power and space of a Patrol with a more modern tech suite, this silver SL is a high-spec, reliable choice that is ready for immediate cross-border adventures.
