Nissan Patrol NISMO

• 273 mm standard ground clearance

Summary

This 2021 Nissan Patrol NISMO is a highly sought-after performance SUV in the GCC market, offering significantly more road presence than the standard V8 models. With its distinctive NISMO-tuned body kit and black exterior—the region's strongest resale color for this trim—it strikes a perfect balance between an aggressive track-inspired look and a premium family cruiser. The NISMO's engine is hand-assembled by Nissan's 'Takumi' craftsmen, delivering an extra 28 hp compared to the LE Platinum, making it a favorite for buyers who demand exclusivity. In the local market, the Patrol is an undisputed icon, valued for its ability to handle both fast-moving UAE highway traffic and cross-border road trips with absolute stability. This specific listing is particularly compelling given its specialized suspension and rare Alcantara-trimmed interior that stays cooler during the intense summer heat.

This Car vs Other 2021 Patrols

With 75,424 km on the odometer, this Patrol averages roughly 25,000 km per year, which is perfectly aligned with the typical GCC annual mileage of 20,000–25,000 km. Most Patrols of this age are either heavily modified for the desert or used as high-mileage highway shuttles, making a factory-spec NISMO in black a rare and high-value find. The black exterior is a premium choice in the UAE and Saudi markets, consistently commanding higher demand at resale compared to lighter shades.

NISMO vs Lower Trims

The NISMO trim is far more than an appearance package; it adds a retuned 5.6L V8 with 428 hp and a specialized Bilstein suspension system for sharper handling. Inside, it replaces the standard wood grain with red carbon fiber trim and adds Alcantara-wrapped sport seats that provide significantly better grip and thermal comfort than the standard leather. You also get 22-inch forged alloy wheels and a zero-lift aerodynamic kit that provides superior stability at high highway speeds compared to the LE Titanium or Platinum City trims.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 or the Cadillac Escalade, the Patrol NISMO stands out for its mechanical purity and driver-centric tuning. It features a massive 140-litre fuel tank (100L main + 40L sub), giving it a superior highway range for long-distance drives between Dubai and Riyadh. While rivals often lean toward soft luxury, the Patrol’s hydraulic body motion control system offers a more planted feel that GCC drivers prefer for high-speed stability.

Running Costs & Resale

The NISMO's 5.6L V8 typically sees real-world fuel consumption of 16–18 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, influenced by heavy AC usage and stop-start city traffic. As one of Nissan's most reliable powertrains, service intervals are generally every 10,000 km, supported by one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. This trim historically enjoys some of the highest resale value retention in the region, often losing only 8–10% annually, significantly outperforming European luxury rivals.

Performance & Capability

The hand-tuned V8 delivers 428 hp, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in approximately 6.5 to 7.3 seconds depending on conditions. Despite its on-road performance focus, it retains a heavy-duty all-wheel-drive system with 4H and 4L modes and a rear-locking differential for weekend desert trips. Its 273 mm ground clearance and 3,500 kg towing capacity ensure it remains a practical workhorse for hauling boats or trailers across the Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

This 8-seater configuration is ideal for large families, featuring a tri-zone climate control system with dedicated roof vents that reach all the way to the third row—essential for the 45°C+ summer months. The cabin is exceptionally quiet thanks to NISMO-specific frame enhancements that reduce road vibration and noise. Premium tech includes a 13-speaker Bose audio system and a 360° Around View Monitor that makes parking this large SUV effortless in tight urban spaces.

Safety

Standard safety on the NISMO includes a comprehensive ADAS suite featuring Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, and Blind Spot Intervention. These systems are particularly valuable on fast-moving multi-lane highways like the E11, providing an extra layer of protection during high-speed commutes. The vehicle is also equipped with a Smart Rear View Mirror, allowing the driver to see behind the vehicle even when the third row is fully occupied or the boot is loaded to the roof.

The bottom line

This 2021 NISMO is the perfect choice for the GCC buyer who wants the legendary reliability of a Patrol but refuses to drive a standard family SUV. It offers a unique combination of 'Takumi' engine craftsmanship and unmatched road presence that will hold its value for years to come.
