• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2021 Nissan Patrol SE Platinum City is a standout choice for GCC buyers seeking the full luxury experience with the more fuel-efficient 4.0L V6 powertrain. As the highest trim level for the V6 engine, it offers premium features like quilted leather and ventilated seats that are essential for staying comfortable during peak summer. The blue exterior is a sophisticated alternative to the common white and silver, yet it retains the strong resale demand typical of the Patrol nameplate in this region. With a massive fuel tank and a refined cabin, this SUV is perfectly suited for long-range travel between emirates or weekend family adventures. It represents a balanced opportunity for those who prioritize cabin technology and durability over raw V8 power.

This Car vs Other 2021 Patrols

With 137,000 km, this vehicle reflects typical highway-heavy usage for a three-year-old SUV in the GCC, where annual averages often reach 40,000 km. The blue exterior is a premium choice that stands out in a market saturated with white, yet remains highly desirable for resale due to the Platinum City's high-end positioning. Its GCC specification ensures the cooling system and AC are optimized for local heat, unlike imported American or European models.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The Platinum City trim adds significant luxury over the SE Titanium, most notably the 13-speaker Bose premium audio system and genuine quilted leather upholstery. GCC buyers will particularly value the standard ventilated front seats and the 360-degree Around View Monitor, which makes parking this large SUV in tight city spaces far easier. It also includes rear entertainment screens, keeping passengers occupied on long cross-border drives.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser 4.0L, the Patrol offers a significantly larger 140-litre fuel tank, providing superior highway range for desert expeditions. While the Chevrolet Tahoe offers more raw cargo space, the Patrol's independent rear suspension delivers a more refined ride on UAE highways. Its reputation for durability and the ubiquity of its service network give it a distinct ownership advantage over European rivals like the Land Rover Discovery.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V6 typically averages 11.8 L/100km, which is efficient for a vehicle of this size during highway cruising. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km across the Nissan network, which is one of the most extensive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The Patrol consistently sits among the top three vehicles for value retention in the GCC, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually, making it a safe financial asset in the used market.

Performance & Capability

The 275 hp V6 engine is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission, providing a smooth and unstressed experience during highway overtaking. While designed for comfort, it retains genuine off-road hardware including a low-range transfer case and selectable terrain modes for sand and rock. The 200 km/h top speed and all-wheel-drive system ensure stability and confidence during high-speed commutes between cities.

Comfort & Cabin

The eight-seat layout is ideal for large families, featuring a power-folding third row for flexible cargo management. High-performance tri-zone climate control ensures the cabin remains cold even when external temperatures exceed 45°C, supported by rear-seat vents. The combination of wood-grain trim, ambient lighting, and acoustic glass creates a quiet sanctuary from the noise of city traffic.

Safety

This trim is equipped with Nissan's full Intelligent Mobility suite, including Blind Spot Warning and Lane Departure Intervention, which are vital for fast-moving multi-lane highway traffic. It also features Forward Collision Warning, six airbags, and a 360-degree camera system as standard. These active safety systems provide peace of mind for family travel, especially on the long, open roads common throughout the region.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who wants the luxury of a flagship SUV without the high fuel consumption of a V8, this Platinum City Patrol is a highly practical and prestigious choice.
