Summary

This 2022 Ford Edge SE is a standout choice for GCC buyers seeking a mid-size SUV that balances punchy performance with daily practicality. Driven approximately 23,000 km per year, its mileage is exactly in line with typical UAE commuting patterns, and its Silver finish is one of the region's strongest resale colors. Unlike many rivals, the Edge offers a remarkably quiet, acoustic-laminated cabin that excels during high-speed highway drives between Emirates. As a genuine GCC-spec vehicle, it features a heavy-duty cooling system designed to maintain peak performance in extreme summer heat. This listing represents a smart opportunity to own a modern, tech-forward crossover that avoids the steep initial depreciation of a new car while providing superior road presence.

This Car vs Other 2022 Edges

With 69,384 km on the odometer, this Edge has been used consistently for regional commuting, landing right at the expected average for a three-year-old vehicle in the GCC. The Silver exterior is highly advantageous in this market, as it hides desert dust effectively and maintains high demand at resale. Choosing this 2022 model ensures you get the large 12-inch vertical touchscreen as standard, a major tech jump over earlier versions of this generation.

SE vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim for the 2022 lineup in the GCC, the SE is surprisingly well-equipped with features usually reserved for higher specs. It includes the full Ford Co-Pilot360 safety suite, dual-zone climate control, and the massive 12-inch SYNC 4A interface. While it skips the leather seats of the Titanium, the SE’s durable cloth upholstery is often preferred in the GCC climate as it stays significantly cooler when parked in direct sunlight.

Edge vs Segment Rivals

The Ford Edge leads competitors like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Honda CR-V in interior width and shoulder room, providing a more 'big-car' feel on the road. Its 2.0L EcoBoost engine delivers 251 hp, comfortably outmuscling the base engines of most Japanese and Korean rivals. Additionally, the Edge's wheelbase is among the longest in its class, resulting in superior rear-seat legroom for adult passengers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0L EcoBoost typically averages around 9.2L/100km in combined driving, though GCC stop-start traffic may see slightly higher figures. Ford has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with Al Tayer and Premier Motors providing strong support. This model follows a steady depreciation curve of roughly 12-15% annually in the GCC, holding its value better than European counterparts due to its reputation for AC reliability and parts availability.

Performance & Capability

The 251 hp turbocharged engine is perfectly calibrated for the GCC’s fast-moving arterial roads like the E11, offering 390 Nm of torque for effortless highway overtaking. The 8-speed automatic transmission provides smooth shifts, while the front-wheel-drive configuration helps maintain better fuel efficiency during long-distance cruises. With its wide track and stable chassis, it handles cross-border road trips with a level of refinement usually found in luxury segments.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the GCC summer, featuring acoustic-laminated glass that significantly reduces wind and road noise at high speeds. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents, essential for maintaining comfort during 45°C+ temperatures. The layout is designed for family logistics, featuring a flat-folding rear seat that expands the already generous boot space for weekend getaways or large shopping trips.

Safety

Safety is a core strength of this trim, which comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360. This includes Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert, which is invaluable for multi-lane highway driving. You also get Lane-Keeping Assist, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, and a high-resolution rearview camera with a built-in lens washer to ensure visibility even in dusty conditions.

The bottom line

Perfect for the professional commuter or small family, this GCC-spec Edge SE offers the ideal mix of American horsepower and modern interior tech in a highly resale-friendly silver finish.
