Summary

This 2024 Ford Territory Trend offers a modern crossover experience with relatively low mileage for the GCC market, where annual averages often exceed 20,000 km. Its silver exterior is not only a practical choice for the intense regional heat but also stands as one of the strongest colors for resale value across the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it provides full compatibility with local authorized service networks, ensuring peace of mind for long-term ownership. The 1.8-liter EcoBoost engine balances city maneuverability with enough power for confident highway cruising between cities. This Trend trim serves as a sweet spot for buyers wanting premium tech without the top-spec price tag.

This Car vs Other 2024 Ford Territorys

With just under 60,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the typical 25,000 km per year expected in the GCC. The silver finish is a major advantage for local buyers, offering excellent heat reflection and maintaining a cleaner appearance during dust storms compared to darker shades. Choosing a GCC-spec model like this one ensures you avoid the warranty and navigation compatibility issues often found in imported American or Chinese market equivalents.

TREND vs Lower Trims

Moving up from the base Ambiente to the Trend trim adds essential GCC comforts, most notably the dual-zone automatic climate control which is vital for maintaining cabin temperatures in summer. The Trend also upgrades the interior to vinyl 'pseudo-leather' upholstery, providing a more premium feel and better durability against sand and spills. Furthermore, this trim includes the full 12-inch center touchscreen and additional safety enhancements like side airbags that aren't always standard on base models.

Ford Territory vs Segment Rivals

The Territory leads rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Kia Sportage in terms of interior digital real estate, offering one of the largest standard touchscreens in its class. Its long wheelbase translates to superior rear legroom, making it a better choice for families who frequently travel between emirates. Additionally, the 1.8-liter EcoBoost engine provides a higher torque output than many naturally aspirated competitors, aiding in quick highway overtaking.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 1.8L EcoBoost typically averages around 8.2 to 8.6 L/100km on a mixed GCC cycle, though highway cruising can see figures improve significantly. Ford’s extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia means parts are readily available and maintenance is straightforward. The Territory has quickly established itself as a high-demand used vehicle, with silver models retaining approximately 80-85% of their value after the first year in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.8L turbocharged engine delivers a robust 320 Nm of torque, ensuring the SUV feels responsive even when fully loaded with passengers and cargo. While primarily designed for urban and highway use, the selectable drive modes include a 'Mountain' or 'Trail' setting to assist with traction on gravel or light sand tracks. The 7-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, providing a relaxed experience during the stop-start traffic typical of Dubai or Riyadh.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a massive 12-inch infotainment display featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless navigation. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated air conditioning vents and a flat floor, maximizing comfort during long cross-country drives in the heat. Insulation has been specifically optimized for the region to reduce wind noise at highway speeds, creating a quiet environment for all five occupants.

Safety

Safety is a priority in the Trend trim, which comes equipped with six airbags including front, side, and curtain protection. Standard driver-assist technologies include a high-definition rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and a tire pressure monitoring system which is essential for safety during high-temperature summer driving. The inclusion of Hill Start Assist and Electronic Stability Control provides added confidence when navigating the varied terrain of the GCC.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Trend is the ideal choice for a family or professional seeking a tech-forward SUV that is still within its prime service life and offers the best possible color for local resale.
