Summary

This BMW X5 40i M Sport Exclusive is a standout choice in the GCC market, offering a perfect balance of performance and practicality with mileage that is significantly lower than the regional average for a four-year-old SUV. The black exterior is highly sought after for its strong resale value in the UAE, while the M Sport Exclusive trim adds a level of interior refinement and aggressive styling that base models lack. In the competitive luxury crossover segment, this 3.0-litre inline-six remains the gold standard for smooth power delivery and mechanical reliability. For any buyer across the Emirates or Saudi Arabia, this listing represents a well-maintained example of BMW’s most versatile family vehicle.

This Car vs Other 2022 X5s

With just 36,109 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven approximately 9,000 km per year, which is exceptionally low compared to the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. The black paintwork is a premier choice for the local market, ensuring it stays relevant and holds its value better than niche colors. Finding a 40i M Sport with such low mileage provides a genuine mechanical advantage for long-term ownership.

40i M SPORT EXCLUSIVE vs Lower Trims

The Exclusive trim elevates the X5 experience with essential GCC features like ventilated front seats and a premium 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system. It moves beyond the standard xLine by adding the M Sport aerodynamic package, M Sport brakes, and upgraded adaptive suspension for better handling on highway interchanges. You also benefit from the CraftedClarity glass application on the gear selector, providing a distinct luxury feel absent in base specifications.

X5 vs Segment Rivals

The X5 leads rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLE and Audi Q7 by offering a more driver-centric experience without sacrificing the 650-litre boot capacity needed for family road trips. Its 3.0-litre B58 engine is widely regarded in the region for better heat management and smoother power delivery than the equivalent units in the Lexus RX or Range Rover Sport. The split-tailgate design remains a unique practical advantage for loading gear during desert weekend trips.

Running Costs & Resale

The xDrive40i typically delivers a combined fuel consumption of roughly 10.4 L/100km, which is efficient for a large SUV navigating GCC stop-start city traffic and long desert highways. As a GCC spec vehicle, it benefits from the widest possible service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, maintaining a predictable depreciation rate of approximately 12% annually. This specific trim sits in the resale 'sweet spot,' retaining higher value than the more expensive V8 M50i variants.

Performance & Capability

The 340 hp turbocharged inline-six propels this SUV from 0–100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, ensuring effortless overtaking on fast-moving UAE highways. With a top speed of 243 km/h and BMW’s intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive system, it remains composed during heavy rain or on loose gravel tracks leading to wadi destinations. Selectable drive modes allow you to stiffen the suspension for the E11 highway or soften it for maximum comfort during school runs.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the extreme GCC summer, featuring a high-output four-zone automatic climate control system that ensures rear passengers stay cool even in 45°C heat. Acoustic glazing and premium leather upholstery provide a hushed environment for long commutes between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The interior is rounded out by the BMW Live Cockpit Professional, featuring twin 12.3-inch displays that integrate seamlessly with local navigation requirements.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include the Active Driving Assistant with blind-spot monitoring, which is vital for multi-lane highway driving in the region. It also features lane departure warning, frontal collision warning with city collision mitigation, and a 360-degree surround-view camera that makes parking this large SUV in tight mall spaces effortless. Six airbags and a high-strength steel chassis provide a 5-star safety foundation for family occupants.

The bottom line

Perfect for the professional who needs a prestigious daily driver that can handle family weekends to Hatta, this low-mileage M Sport Exclusive is the most complete luxury SUV package currently available in the UAE market.
