Summary

This 2022 Ford Edge SE offers a compelling balance of performance and modern technology for the GCC market, featuring a low mileage of 33,010 km that is significantly below average for a four-year-old vehicle in this region. Finished in Black, a high-demand resale color in the UAE, this SUV provides the confidence of standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and a robust turbocharged engine. It stands out from rivals with a class-leading 12-inch vertical touchscreen and a exceptionally quiet cabin designed for long highway hauls. For a GCC buyer, the combination of a well-maintained local history and Ford's extensive regional service network makes this a highly practical and reliable family choice.

This Car vs Other 2022 Edges

With only 33,010 km on the odometer, this Edge has been driven roughly 8,250 km per year, which is exceptionally low compared to the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. The Black exterior is a top-tier choice for resale value in the local market, ensuring it remains attractive to future buyers. Its mechanical condition reflects this careful usage, offering a level of freshness rarely found in four-year-old midsize SUVs.

SE vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim for 2022, the SE was upgraded to include Intelligent All-Wheel Drive as standard, a feature often reserved for higher trims in previous years. It also introduced the massive 12-inch SYNC 4A touchscreen and dual-zone automatic climate control as standard equipment, providing a premium tech experience without the higher price point of the SEL or Titanium. This trim strikes the best balance of essential GCC comforts and modern connectivity.

Edge vs Segment Rivals

The Ford Edge leads competitors like the Chevrolet Blazer and Hyundai Santa Fe by providing a more powerful standard turbocharged engine and a significantly quieter, more refined cabin. While some rivals offer optional third-row seating, the Edge focuses on maximizing second-row legroom and cargo space, making it superior for five-passenger comfort. Its standard AWD system provides better high-speed stability on GCC highways than the FWD configurations found on many base-trim competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L EcoBoost engine is designed for efficiency, delivering approximately 11.6 L/100km in city traffic and 8.5 L/100km on long highway stretches between emirates. Ford's authorized service centers are widely available across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring low-cost maintenance and easy parts availability. Historically, the Edge maintains a stable depreciation rate in the GCC, typically retaining over 50% of its value at the four-year mark due to its popularity and reliability.

Performance & Capability

The 251 hp turbocharged engine provides effortless overtaking power, which is essential for the fast-paced multi-lane highways of the UAE. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard All-Wheel Drive, it handles diverse road conditions with precision and confidence. With a braked towing capacity of up to 1,587 kg (3,500 lbs), it is also capable of hauling light trailers or recreational equipment for weekend adventures.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the dual-zone automatic climate control is specifically engineered to combat extreme GCC summer heat, ensuring a cold cabin even at mid-day. The 12-inch vertical display serves as the hub for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the acoustic-laminated glass provides excellent sound insulation from wind and road noise. The 5-seat layout offers one of the most spacious rear benches in its class, perfect for family road trips.

Safety

Standard safety features include the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite, which provides Blind Spot Information with Cross-Traffic Alert and Lane-Keeping Assist—both vital for navigating high-speed highway traffic. It also features Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and a rearview camera with a dedicated washer. These active systems, combined with a 5-star NHTSA safety rating, offer total peace of mind for daily commuting and family travel.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a tech-forward family SUV with low mileage and a strong resale profile, this all-wheel-drive Edge represents one of the most sensible and well-equipped opportunities on the market today.
