Summary

This 2022 Ford Edge Titanium represents a highly strategic buy in the GCC market, offering a premium American SUV experience with mileage that sits well below the regional average for its age. The Titanium trim is the sweet spot for resale in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, providing luxury features like genuine leather and an upgraded B&O audio system that buyers actively seek. Its vibrant red exterior stands out in a market dominated by neutral tones, often appealing to private buyers looking for a more personal touch. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully optimized for extreme summer heat, featuring a cooling system and air conditioning performance specifically tuned for the desert climate. For a buyer wanting a modern, tech-forward crossover that balances family practicality with a high-end feel, this is one of the most refreshed options currently available.

This Car vs Other 2022 Ford Edges

With just over 32,000 km on the odometer, this Edge has been driven significantly less than the typical 50,000–60,000 km expected for a vehicle of this age in the highway-heavy GCC environment. The red exterior is a bold choice that maintains strong appeal in the secondary market for those moving away from white or silver. Its low-mileage status ensures that major service items are still far in the future, providing a mechanical advantage over higher-mileage examples.

TITANIUM vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the Titanium trim adds a layer of refinement that the SE and SEL lack, most notably the premium 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system and genuine leather upholstery. It also introduces a hands-free power liftgate and driver’s seat memory settings, features that become indispensable during daily use in the region's busy shopping and commuting culture. The addition of acoustic-laminated glass in this trim also provides a noticeably quieter cabin, shielding passengers from the road noise of fast-moving GCC highways.

Edge vs Segment Rivals

The Ford Edge leads competitors like the Nissan Murano and Hyundai Santa Fe by offering standard All-Wheel Drive across the range, providing superior stability on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces. Its 12-inch vertical infotainment screen is larger and more modern than most rivals in the 2022 model year, utilizing the responsive SYNC 4A system. Furthermore, the Edge provides a more substantial towing capacity of 1,588 kg, making it a more versatile choice for those who occasionally tow light trailers or jet skis.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 10.2 L/100km, though expect closer to 11.6 L/100km in the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. Ford’s authorized service network is extensive across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring that parts are readily available and maintenance is straightforward. The Titanium trim historically retains its value better than base models in the GCC, with an annual depreciation rate of approximately 12–15%, aligning well with other mid-size American crossovers.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L EcoBoost engine delivers a punchy 250 hp, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in roughly 8 seconds, which is more than enough for confident highway merging on the E11. Its Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system seamlessly manages power between the axles, providing a planted feel during high-speed cruising or when navigating gravel tracks. With a top speed of 220 km/h, it is geared for long-distance comfort, making cross-emirate trips feel effortless and stable.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed with the GCC's harsh summers in mind, featuring a high-output dual-zone climate control system and dedicated rear vents to ensure all five passengers stay cool. The Titanium's leather-trimmed seats offer excellent support for long desert drives, while the 600-litre boot provides ample room for family gear or groceries. Extensive sound deadening and the premium B&O audio system transform the interior into a private sanctuary, even in heavy traffic.

Safety

This Edge comes equipped with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite, including a blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, which is vital for safe lane changes on the region's wide, multi-lane highways. It also features pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking and a lane-keeping system to mitigate driver fatigue during long trips. With a comprehensive array of airbags and a solid safety rating, it provides peace of mind for family-oriented buyers.

The bottom line

This is a low-mileage, high-spec GCC crossover that offers a premium feel without the luxury-brand maintenance costs, making it a perfect upgrade for a young family or professional in the UAE.
