Summary

This 2023 Ford Edge Trend offers a compelling mix of modern tech and reliable performance for the GCC market, especially with its manageable mileage relative to its three-year age. Finished in Blue, a versatile choice for regional resale, it stands out with a standard all-wheel-drive system that provides superior stability during high-speed highway commutes between emirates. The 2.0L EcoBoost engine is well-regarded for balancing power with reasonable efficiency, making it a smarter daily driver than larger V6 alternatives. For families or professionals in the region, the combination of a massive 12-inch touchscreen and comprehensive safety tech ensures a premium ownership experience without the luxury-brand maintenance costs. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully optimized for the local climate and benefits from one of the most extensive service networks in the Middle East.

This Car vs Other 2023 Edges

At 54,116 km over three years, this Edge has been driven roughly 18,000 km per year, which is well below the typical GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. This lower-than-expected usage suggests better mechanical longevity and less wear on the interior components. The Blue exterior is a smart choice for the local market, offering a distinctive look while maintaining strong resale appeal alongside traditional white and silver options.

Trend vs Lower Trims

The Trend trim in the GCC market elevates the base experience by adding essential comfort and convenience features often missing in fleet-focused lower specs. It includes upgraded interior materials, rear parking sensors to assist in tight city spaces, and enhanced climate controls. Crucially, it retains the advanced SYNC 4A interface and the 12-inch vertical display, ensuring you have the same high-tech cabin feel as the top-tier Titanium models.

Edge vs Segment Rivals

The Ford Edge leads competitors like the Nissan Murano and Toyota RAV4 in cabin technology, featuring a significantly larger and more modern infotainment screen. Its standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive provides a more planted feel on the highway compared to the front-wheel-drive setups often found on base-level rivals. Additionally, the Edge offers superior shoulder and hip room, making it a more comfortable five-passenger cruiser for long-distance family road trips.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L turbocharged engine is designed to run efficiently on local fuel grades, typically averaging around 9.0 to 10.2 L/100km in combined GCC driving conditions. Ford's authorized service network is extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring that parts and expertise are always within reach. The Edge maintains a steady depreciation rate of approximately 12–15% annually, benefiting from its long-standing reputation for durability in the Middle East market.

Performance & Capability

With 250 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque, the Edge Trend provides effortless overtaking power on fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, while the standard AWD system constantly monitors traction to handle sudden sand-drifts or heavy rain. While not a desert off-roader, its generous ground clearance and intelligent torque distribution make it highly capable for weekend visits to gravel-pathed wadis and rural retreats.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a 12-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen that controls the SYNC 4A system, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard and engineered to handle 45°C+ summer peaks, supported by dedicated rear vents for passenger comfort. The five-seat layout provides class-leading legroom, while acoustic glass helps insulate the interior from highway wind noise and external heat.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of this model, featuring the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite as standard equipment. This includes Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert, which is invaluable for multi-lane highway driving, and a Lane-Keeping System to prevent drift during long desert transits. It also features Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and a high-resolution rearview camera, providing comprehensive protection for both city and highway environments.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a modern, tech-forward SUV with lower-than-average mileage and a proven service history, this Edge Trend is an exceptionally balanced and safe choice.
