Summary

This 2022 Ford Edge SE is an exceptionally sharp buy, showing just 34,223 km after four years of use—well below the typical GCC annual average of 20,000 km. Dressed in a vibrant Red that stands out in a market dominated by white and silver, it offers a refreshing alternative with strong curb appeal. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for the region's intense heat with a robust dual-zone climate system and a powertrain built for long-distance highway cruising. The Edge occupies a sweet spot in the crossover segment, providing more passenger volume and a smoother ride than compact alternatives. For a GCC buyer, this represents a modern, low-mileage family SUV that balances American comfort with proven local reliability.

This Car vs Other 2022 Ford Edges

With just 34,223 km on the odometer, this Edge has been driven significantly less than the typical 80,000 km expected for a four-year-old vehicle in the UAE. The Red exterior is a rare find in the secondary market, offering a distinctive look while maintaining the high resale standards associated with the Ford brand in the region. Being a GCC-spec unit ensures full compatibility with local authorized service centers and maintains its value better than imported American-spec alternatives.

SE vs Lower Trims

The SE serves as the highly-functional entry point for the 2022 model year, notably benefiting from the standard inclusion of Intelligent All-Wheel Drive across the entire lineup. Unlike previous base models, this SE features the massive 12-inch vertical SYNC 4A touchscreen, bringing high-end cabin technology usually reserved for luxury trims. It also retains essential GCC comforts like dual-zone automatic temperature control and LED headlamps as standard equipment.

Edge vs Segment Rivals

The Ford Edge leads rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V in pure cabin width and shoulder room, making it a superior choice for three adult passengers in the rear. Its turbocharged EcoBoost engine provides 251 hp, offering more confident highway overtaking than the naturally aspirated engines found in many Japanese competitors. The Edge is also prized for its superior acoustic insulation, providing a quieter cabin during high-speed drives on the E11 or E311 highways.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0L EcoBoost averages approximately 9.8 L/100km, performing efficiently during steady-state highway driving between emirates. Ford has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring that parts and expertise are always within reach. The Edge historically retains about 50-55% of its value after four years in the GCC market, making this low-mileage example a stable asset with plenty of predictable life remaining.

Performance & Capability

The 251 hp turbocharged engine delivers a smooth 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 6.7 seconds, providing plenty of punch for urban traffic and desert highway merging. The standard All-Wheel Drive system is tuned for road stability and light gravel tracks, offering extra confidence during occasional weekend outings. With a 3,500 lbs max towing capacity when properly equipped, it is one of the more capable crossovers in its class for light trailers or jet skis.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around the 12-inch SYNC 4A display, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless navigation through Dubai or Riyadh. Despite being the SE trim, the interior is spacious and well-insulated from the GCC summer heat, supported by powerful rear air conditioning vents. The boot offers 1,110 liters of space with the rear seats up, easily accommodating large grocery hauls or family vacation luggage.

Safety

Safety is a primary strength, as the SE comes standard with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite. This includes Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert, which is essential for multi-lane highway driving, and a Lane-Keeping System to assist on long desert stretches. It also features Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and a rearview camera equipped with a dedicated lens washer to combat dust and sand buildup.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage, GCC-spec 2022 Edge that bridges the gap between a new car experience and used car value. It is the perfect fit for a small family or professional seeking American comfort and modern tech without the premium price of a showroom-fresh model.
