Summary

This 2022 Ford Expedition Platinum represents a high-value opportunity for GCC families, combining low mileage for its age with the top-tier luxury trim. The Grey exterior is a neutral, strong-resale choice for the local market, holding its look well against the desert sun. While rivals often rely on thirsty V8 engines, this EcoBoost V6 offers the same 400 hp output with better efficiency for the daily Dubai or Riyadh commute. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for extreme summer heat and backed by a widespread regional service network. For those seeking the maximum seating capacity without sacrificing premium cabin tech, this listing is a standout.

This Car vs Other 2022 Expeditions

With just over 37,000 km on the odometer, this Expedition has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. This low usage means less wear on the suspension and cooling systems, which are critical for longevity in the local climate. The Grey finish is one of the most practical colors for the region, hiding dust well and maintaining a higher resale value than brighter alternatives.

Platinum vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim is a significant leap over the Limited, most notably adding the B&O Unleashed 22-speaker audio system and Multi-Contour seats with Active Motion massage—a luxury essential for long drives across the Emirates. It also standardizes the Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) suspension, which provides a much smoother ride on highway stretches compared to the standard setup. You also get the upgraded 400 hp engine tune as standard, whereas lower trims often carry the 380 hp variant.

Expedition vs Segment Rivals

The Expedition leads rivals like the Chevrolet Tahoe and Toyota Sequoia in mid-range torque delivery, making highway overtaking much more effortless. Its third row is genuinely adult-usable, offering superior legroom compared to most competitors in the full-size SUV class. Additionally, the Ford's inclusion of a massive 15.5-inch vertical touchscreen in the Platinum trim outclasses the smaller displays found in many same-year Japanese rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L EcoBoost engine is designed to run efficiently on 95-octane fuel, making it more cost-effective for long-distance cruising than its V8 competitors. Service intervals are standard at every 10,000 km, with authorized centers like Al Tayer in the UAE and Al Jazirah in Saudi Arabia ensuring parts are always readily available. While full-size American SUVs experience a steady depreciation curve, the Platinum trim holds a premium in the used market due to its high demand for luxury-seeking family buyers.

Performance & Capability

Producing 400 hp and 650 Nm of torque, this SUV offers a verified towing capacity of up to 4,173 kg (9,200 lbs) when properly equipped, making it ideal for hauling boats or trailers. The 10-speed automatic transmission is tuned for the high-speed, long-distance driving typical of the GCC, ensuring the engine remains in its power band for quick acceleration. Its Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system includes selectable terrain modes, allowing for confident navigation through sand or gravel during weekend desert outings.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a true 8-seater sanctuary featuring premium leather and wood accents. It is equipped with a high-performance GCC-spec air conditioning system with dedicated rear-seat vents and controls to ensure every passenger stays cool during peak summer. The ventilated front seats and panoramic Vista Roof create an airy, executive feel, while acoustic glass keeps the cabin remarkably quiet even at highway speeds.

Safety

This Platinum trim comes standard with the full Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, which is a lifesaver on the E11 or other major highways. It also features a 360-degree camera system to make parking such a large vehicle effortless in tight mall spaces. Other critical safety features include Blind Spot Monitoring with Trailer Coverage and Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a GCC buyer who needs the space of an 8-seater but refuses to compromise on executive-level luxury and low-mileage reliability.
