Summary

This 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Comfort offers an ideal balance of family utility and modern styling for the GCC market. With seven seats and a proven 2.5L powertrain, it is perfectly suited for daily school runs in the city or long-distance highway cruises between emirates. The grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, maintaining a clean look against dust while ensuring strong resale appeal. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a cooling system and air conditioning package specifically engineered to handle extreme summer temperatures. This listing represents a smart opportunity for buyers seeking a reliable, tech-forward SUV with a vast support network across the region.

This Car vs Other 2022 Santa Fes

With 98,000 km, this Santa Fe sits at a typical mileage for a three-year-old family SUV in the GCC, where long highway commutes are the norm. Unlike many imports, this is a genuine GCC-spec vehicle, ensuring full compatibility with local service centers and superior climate control performance. The grey finish is one of the most sought-after colors in the UAE and Saudi markets, offering better heat reflection than black and higher resale liquidity than bolder tones.

COMFORT vs Lower Trims

The Comfort trim provides significant upgrades over the base SE, including 18-inch alloy wheels and a more refined interior layout that caters to large families. It features enhanced safety tech and a user-friendly 8-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone integration, which are essential for navigating GCC traffic. This trim also includes rear air conditioning vents for all rows, a critical feature for passenger comfort during the peak summer months.

Santa Fe vs Segment Rivals

The Santa Fe leads rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan X-Trail by offering a genuinely usable third row, making it a true 7-seater in a compact footprint. Its 67-litre fuel tank provides a superior driving range for long desert highway stretches compared to smaller crossovers. Furthermore, Hyundai’s infotainment interface is often cited as more intuitive than those found in Mitsubishi or Kia competitors in this price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.5L engine averages around 9.5 to 10.5 L/100km in combined GCC driving cycles. Hyundai enjoys one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, KSA, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. The Santa Fe traditionally holds its value well, with a depreciation rate of approximately 10-12% annually, performing better than many European alternatives in the same segment.

Performance & Capability

The 180 hp 2.5L engine is paired with a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission, optimized for linear power delivery during highway overtaking. While front-wheel drive, the Santa Fe features a 176mm ground clearance, allowing it to navigate gravel tracks and suburban obstacles with ease. Its 232 Nm of torque ensures that even with a full load of seven passengers, the vehicle maintains composed acceleration in stop-start city traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for long-distance family comfort, featuring a 60/40 split-folding second row and a 50/50 third row for maximum versatility. The air conditioning system is specifically tuned for the region, with dedicated vents ensuring the rearmost passengers stay cool in 45°C+ heat. With the third row folded, the boot expands to a massive 782 litres, providing more than enough room for grocery hauls or weekend luggage.

Safety

This Santa Fe comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features including a Rear View Monitor with parking guidance, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), and Hillstart Assist Control. The inclusion of standard ISOFIX points and child safety locks makes it a top-tier choice for families. GCC-specific safety benefits include high-visibility LED daytime running lights and a robust braking system designed to maintain performance in high-ambient temperatures.

The bottom line

For the GCC family buyer, this Santa Fe is a high-utility workhorse that combines a seven-seat layout with the peace of mind of a massive regional service network.
