Summary

This 2022 Range Rover Sport SVR represents the final and most refined year of its generation, making it a highly sought-after collector’s piece in the performance SUV market. With a powerful supercharged V8 and the prestigious SVR tuning, it offers a raw mechanical character that modern downsized engines simply cannot replicate. Its striking blue finish is a standout choice in the GCC, holding strong aesthetic appeal and resale demand across the region. For the UAE buyer, this European-spec example provides an opportunity to own a low-mileage performance icon that is as comfortable on the E11 highway as it is commanding on the city streets of Dubai or Riyadh.

This Car vs Other 2022 Range Rover Sports

With just 53,000 km, this SVR has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. While many 2022 models are now approaching the 75,000 km mark, this example remains in its prime performance window. The blue exterior is a premium choice that differentiates it from the high volume of white and black units, offering better long-term resale potential for enthusiasts.

SVR vs Lower Trims

The SVR is a complete mechanical departure from the HSE or Autobiography trims, featuring a bespoke suspension tune and a unique Active Exhaust system that produces a signature V8 growl. Inside, you gain SVR-exclusive lightweight Performance seats in Windsor leather and carbon fiber interior trim as standard. It also includes upgraded braking systems and 21-inch wheels designed specifically to handle the massive 575 hp output.

Range Rover Sport vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW X5 M and Porsche Cayenne Turbo, the Range Rover Sport SVR leads with a more commanding, high-seat driving position that offers superior visibility in fast-moving GCC traffic. While the German rivals focus strictly on track-like tarmac handling, the SVR retains Land Rover’s legendary Terrain Response system, making it more capable on sand and gravel surfaces during weekend escapes. Its 104-litre fuel tank also provides a superior cruising range for long-distance drives across the Emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.0L supercharged engine typically averages 12.8 L/100km, though this will increase in stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are recommended every 13,000 km or 12 months at authorized Land Rover centers, which are widely available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. While European-spec vehicles require a thorough pre-purchase inspection for GCC climate compatibility, the SVR trim specifically retains a higher percentage of its value compared to standard V6 models due to its discontinued powertrain status.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this SUV is the 5.0L supercharged V8, delivering 575 hp and 700 Nm of torque for effortless overtaking on the highway. It reaches a top speed of 283 km/h and features a specialized SVR Sport Suspension that allows it to corner flatter than any other vehicle in the Land Rover lineup. Despite its track focus, it maintains a 3,000 kg braked towing capacity and a 278 mm ground clearance, ensuring it remains a versatile tool for both performance and utility.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is optimized for the GCC summer with quad-zone automatic climate control and standard ventilated front seats to combat high external temperatures. The 19-speaker Meridian Surround Sound system provides an immersive audio experience, while the Touch Pro Duo dual-screen setup manages infotainment and vehicle settings with ease. Acoustic laminated glass ensures the interior remains a quiet sanctuary, insulated from both heat and road noise during long cross-country journeys.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite of ADAS features, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go—essential for fatigue reduction on long desert highways. It also features Blind Spot Monitor, Lane Keep Assist, and a 360-degree Surround Camera system that makes navigating tight urban parking easy. The high-performance Brembo braking system provides exceptional stopping power, offering peace of mind during high-speed highway cruising.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants the pinnacle of the supercharged V8 era in a low-mileage, final-edition package that stands out from the crowd. It combines raw performance with daily usability, making it one of the most versatile high-performance SUVs available in the market today.
