Summary

This 2022 Range Rover Velar S P250 is an exceptional find in the GCC market, offering the perfect balance of avant-garde design and everyday efficiency. With mileage sitting comfortably below the typical regional annual average, it presents a buying opportunity that feels nearly new without the showroom depreciation. Its crisp white exterior is the most sought-after color for local resale, ensuring strong value retention and better heat reflection during the intense summer months. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for the climate with a robust cooling system and factory-backed performance for the region's unique driving conditions. This is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants Range Rover prestige with the lower running costs of a refined four-cylinder powertrain.

This Car vs Other 2022 Range Rover Velars

With just 51,500 km, this Velar has been driven roughly 17,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the 20,000–25,000 km GCC average. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the UAE, as it holds resale value better than almost any other shade while keeping the cabin cooler. Mechanically, this P250 unit offers a lighter front end compared to V6 variants, resulting in more agile city handling and reduced brake wear.

S P250 vs Lower Trims

The S trim elevates the Velar experience with the Pivi Pro infotainment system, featuring a high-resolution 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen that is significantly faster than the older base units. It also adds premium LED headlights with signature DRLs and a powered tailgate as standard, features that are highly valued by GCC buyers. Inside, the S trim provides higher-quality leather finishes and enhanced seat adjustments compared to the standard entry-level Velar.

Range Rover Velar vs Segment Rivals

The Velar leads rivals like the BMW X4 and Porsche Macan in terms of pure cargo versatility, offering a generous 748 litres of boot space. Its 82-litre fuel tank is one of the largest in its class, providing superior range for long highway drives between emirates like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, its Terrain Response system provides a level of off-road confidence that road-biased competitors in this segment simply cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

The P250 powertrain is highly efficient for the GCC, returning approximately 10.4 L/100km combined, which is excellent for a luxury SUV of this size. Service intervals are typically set every 16,000 km or 12 months, and the Land Rover authorized service network is well-established across all major UAE cities and the wider GCC. While European luxury SUVs generally depreciate faster than Japanese alternatives, the Velar’s unique design and GCC-spec status help it maintain a stronger secondary market price than many of its direct German rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-litre turbocharged Ingenium engine delivers a smooth 247 hp, allowing for a top speed of 217 km/h and effortless highway cruising. The 365 Nm of torque is available from just 1,300 rpm, ensuring responsive overtaking even in fast-moving Dubai traffic. With 213 mm of ground clearance and a standard All-Wheel Drive system, it handles gravel tracks and weekend beach trips with the poise expected of the Range Rover name.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of minimalist luxury, featuring the iconic dual-touchscreen setup that controls everything from the powerful GCC-spec air conditioning to vehicle settings. Acoustic laminated glass ensures a whisper-quiet ride even at 120 km/h, isolating passengers from outside heat and road noise. The five-seat layout is spacious enough for a family, and the standard panoramic roof adds an airy, expansive feel to the interior.

Safety

Safety is paramount with a suite of standard features including Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and a Driver Condition Monitor to prevent fatigue on long desert drives. Front and rear parking sensors paired with a clear reversing camera make navigating tight city parking garages stress-free. The Velar also features six airbags and a high-strength aluminum-intensive body structure that earned it a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Velar is a smart acquisition for the style-conscious professional, offering low-mileage reliability and the region's best resale color in a package that is as practical as it is beautiful.
