Summary

This 2022 Mercedes-Benz E 450 Coupe represents a sophisticated choice for GCC drivers who prioritize grand-touring comfort and modern efficiency. With its mild-hybrid inline-six engine, it offers smooth highway overtaking and refined city driving, perfectly suited for the fast-paced routes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The black exterior is a high-demand choice in the local market, ensuring strong resale prospects and a timeless aesthetic. As a Premium Plus trim, it delivers the high-tier cabin technology and comfort features that local buyers expect from the executive coupe segment. This specific model bridges the gap between everyday practicality and the exclusive prestige of a pillarless Mercedes-Benz coupe.

This Car vs Other 2022 E 450s

At 65,000 km, this vehicle sits within the typical mileage range for a high-performance executive coupe in the GCC, where annual highway commutes often reach 25,000 km. The black paintwork is a top-tier choice for value retention in the regional used market. While many listings in the UAE are lower-spec imports, this Premium Plus example features the high-end equipment suite required for maximum comfort in the local climate.

PREMIUM PLUS vs Lower Trims

The Premium Plus trim is the definitive spec for GCC buyers, adding essential features over the base E 450 such as the 13-speaker Burmester surround sound system and the panoramic sunroof. It also upgrades the cabin with a 360-degree camera system and high-resolution adaptive LED headlights, which are highly valued for night driving on unlit desert highways. Unlike base trims, this version typically includes the ventilated seat package, a non-negotiable luxury during the peak summer months.

E 450 vs Segment Rivals

The E 450 Coupe faces off against the BMW 8 Series and the Audi A5/S5 range, leading the segment with its unique pillarless design that provides an unmatched airy cabin feel. Its 3.0L inline-six engine is widely regarded as smoother than the turbocharged units in rivals, offering more refined power delivery for long-distance GCC road trips. Mercedes-Benz also maintains a broader authorized service presence across the UAE and Saudi Arabia compared to its niche European competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 9.5 L/100km, aided by the 48V mild-hybrid system which reduces fuel burn during GCC stop-start traffic. The E-Class remains a benchmark for value retention in the luxury segment, typically depreciating at a more stable rate than high-performance AMGs or equivalent BMWs. Mercedes-Benz authorized service centers are readily available in every major GCC city, ensuring that maintenance and parts remain accessible for long-term owners.

Performance & Capability

The 369 hp inline-six engine provides effortless acceleration, reaching 0-100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds for confident highway merging. The 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission is tuned for refinement, keeping engine revs low and the cabin quiet during high-speed cruising. While it is a rear-wheel-drive sports coupe, the sophisticated stability control systems and DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes ensure it remains composed on both well-paved city streets and gravel-strewn desert access roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a four-seat layout featuring a dual 12.3-inch digital cockpit that integrates navigation and entertainment seamlessly. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered to handle extreme temperatures, providing rapid cabin cooling even after the car has been parked in direct sunlight. Acoustic glass and high-grade leather upholstery ensure a serene environment, shielding passengers from road noise and the intense GCC heat during long trans-emirate drives.

Safety

This E 450 comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of active safety technologies, including Blind Spot Assist and Active Brake Assist, which are essential for navigating multi-lane highway traffic. The standard 360-degree camera system simplifies parking in tight urban spaces, while the adaptive high-beam assist improves visibility during long night drives between cities. Mercedes-Benz’s PRE-SAFE system provides an additional layer of protection, automatically preparing the cabin for a potential collision.

The bottom line

For the executive buyer seeking a blend of performance and prestige, this Premium Plus E 450 Coupe is a standout choice that offers the right spec and color for the GCC market.
