Summary

This Nissan Armada is a powerhouse in the full-size SUV segment, particularly well-suited for GCC families who require serious towing capability and cabin space. With its robust V8 engine and a high seating capacity for eight, it bridges the gap between a daily commuter and a heavy-duty expedition vehicle. Its white exterior is a top choice for resale in this region, effectively reflecting the desert sun to keep the cabin cooler. As a four-year-old vehicle with mileage that reflects consistent use, it represents a reliable alternative to smaller crossovers. For anyone regularly navigating long highways between emirates or planning weekend hauls, this model's truck-based durability is a major advantage.

This Car vs Other 2022 Armadas

At 102,758 km, this vehicle has covered distance consistent with the higher-than-average annual mileage typical of GCC highway driving. While many four-year-old vehicles in this segment see heavy school-run use, this mileage suggests it has been utilized for the long-distance cruising it was engineered for. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local used market, ensuring faster resale and better thermal performance in extreme heat.

SL vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the SL trim adds several features that are highly valued by GCC buyers, most notably the 360-degree Around View Monitor which is essential for maneuvering such a large vehicle in tight parking areas. It also replaces the synthetic upholstery of lower trims with genuine leather-appointed seating and introduces a 13-speaker Bose premium audio system. Additionally, the SL includes a power moonroof and remote engine start, a critical feature for pre-cooling the cabin during the summer months.

Armada vs Segment Rivals

The Armada competes directly with the Toyota Land Cruiser and Chevrolet Tahoe, standing out with its standard high-output V8 engine where some rivals have moved to smaller turbocharged units. It leads many in the segment with a massive 8,500-pound (3,855 kg) towing capacity and a larger 12.3-inch standard infotainment screen. Its body-on-frame construction provides a more rugged foundation for heavy-duty use than monocoque-based crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.6L V8 is a proven engine across the GCC, benefiting from an extensive authorized service network in every major city from Dubai to Riyadh. While fuel consumption reflects its large displacement, it is engineered to handle local fuel grades and long-distance highway cruising efficiently. Nissan remains one of the strongest brands for value retention in the region, typically seeing lower annual depreciation than its American or European rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 390 hp V8 engine provides effortless overtaking power on the highway and the torque necessary for towing large boats or trailers. Built on a full-length boxed ladder frame, it offers a stable and composed ride even when fully loaded with eight passengers. This rear-wheel-drive configuration is optimized for road comfort and long-range durability, making it an ideal choice for inter-city travel.

Comfort & Cabin

With three full rows of seating, this SUV comfortably accommodates eight passengers, making it a favorite for large families. The cabin features dedicated rear climate control vents to ensure every row stays cool during peak GCC summer temperatures. Acoustic glass and thick insulation result in a quiet interior that isolates passengers from wind noise during high-speed highway travel.

Safety

This trim comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, providing comprehensive protection through automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Intelligent Around View Monitor provides a bird's-eye perspective of the vehicle, which is particularly useful for avoiding obstacles in fast-moving traffic or crowded areas. Standard trailer sway control also ensures stability when taking advantage of its class-leading towing capacity.

The bottom line

This 2022 Armada is the ideal choice for a GCC buyer who needs maximum seating and towing strength without the premium price tag of a luxury-badged equivalent. It offers the perfect balance of modern tech and old-school V8 reliability in a color that holds its value better than almost any other.
