Summary

This 2022 Nissan Armada Platinum offers a rare blend of traditional V8 muscle and modern family logistics. As a high-trim Platinum model in Grey, it benefits from strong resale demand in the GCC where neutral tones and top-tier specs are highly prized. With just under 95,000 km, this SUV has been driven at a typical regional pace, ensuring it's well-settled for its next long-distance owner. The Armada stands out from rivals by offering a more premium, near-luxury interior finish that shares its DNA with the Infiniti QX80. For a buyer looking to balance heavy-duty school runs with weekend desert trips or cross-border highway cruises, this is a versatile and robust choice.

This Car vs Other 2022 Armadas

At 94,658 km, this vehicle's mileage is average for a 2022 model in the GCC, where annual distances of 25,000 km are common. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, hiding desert dust well while maintaining excellent resale value compared to bolder colors. Being the Platinum trim, it represents the most complete version of this model year available on the used market.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim significantly elevates the experience over the SL and SV with 22-inch dark-finished alloy wheels and quilted leather upholstery. It adds essential GCC comfort features including ventilated front seats for the summer and a rear-seat entertainment system with dual 8-inch screens. Practical upgrades like the digital rearview mirror and one-touch power-folding third row are exclusive to this flagship specification.

Armada vs Segment Rivals

The Armada leads its main rivals, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Toyota Land Cruiser, with a standard 8,500 lbs (3,856 kg) towing capacity and a 400 hp V8 across the lineup. Its cabin refinement is often cited as superior to the Tahoe, offering a quieter ride on the E11 highway. While rivals may offer more cargo volume, the Armada’s value-to-feature ratio remains one of the highest in the full-size SUV segment.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.6L V8 is a thirsty but durable engine, averaging approximately 15.4 L/100km combined, with city figures rising during stop-start traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Nissan maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE and the wider GCC, ensuring parts are always accessible. While American spec models exist, this car's performance in the local market is supported by the brand's legendary reputation for reliability in high heat.

Performance & Capability

With 400 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque, the Armada provides effortless overtaking power even when fully loaded with eight passengers. The All-Wheel Drive system includes a low-range transfer case, making it a capable companion for sandy terrain and weekend wadi explorations. Despite its size, the independent double-wishbone suspension ensures a composed and comfortable ride during long drives between Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The Platinum cabin is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful tri-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents to keep all three rows cool. Acoustic glass helps isolate the interior from road noise and external heat, creating a serene environment for family trips. The 12.3-inch touchscreen and 13-speaker Bose audio system provide a modern interface for navigation and media.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with Nissan’s Safety Shield 360, including Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Blind Spot Intervention, which are vital for fast-moving multi-lane highway traffic. The 360° Intelligent Around View Monitor makes parking this large SUV in tight city malls much simpler. Standard features like Lane Departure Interventions and Rear Cross Traffic Alert provide a comprehensive safety net for the entire family.

The bottom line

For the family that needs maximum towing capacity and premium comfort without stepping up to luxury-brand prices, this Platinum Armada is a smart, high-spec workhorse ready for the GCC's demanding roads.
