Summary

This 2022 Peugeot 2008 GT offers a distinct aesthetic edge in its Fusion Orange metallic finish, a color that helps maintain better visibility and character in the GCC's bright climate compared to common white rentals. As a four-year-old vehicle with 87,001 km, it sits right on the average annual mileage expected for a GCC-driven car, suggesting it has been used consistently for typical urban and highway commutes. The GT trim is the highest tier available in the region for this year, offering a premium experience that rivals larger SUVs without the parking hassle. For a buyer looking to stand out from the sea of monochromatic crossovers, this well-specified French crossover combines European tech with a drivetrain suited for regional fuel grades.

This Car vs Other 2022 2008s

At 87,001 km, this car's mileage is exactly in line with the GCC average of 20,000–22,000 km per year, indicating a balanced usage history typical of Dubai or Abu Dhabi commutes. While many 2022 models in the market are entry-level Active trims often used in fleets, this is a privately oriented GT spec. The Fusion Orange exterior is a signature Peugeot color that holds its appeal in the local pre-owned market due to its rarity and premium positioning.

GT vs Lower Trims

The GT trim significantly upgrades the cabin experience over the Allure with the addition of 8-colour customizable ambient lighting and the full 3D i-Cockpit digital cluster. Externally, it adds gloss black accents and larger 17 or 18-inch alloy wheels that give it a much more aggressive stance. You also benefit from a more comprehensive ADAS suite including standard blind-spot monitoring and front parking sensors, which are often missing on lower trims.

2008 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Kicks or Renault Duster, the Peugeot 2008 GT leads with a more sophisticated interior design and superior soft-touch materials. Its 1.2L turbocharged engine offers 230 Nm of torque, providing better highway overtaking performance than the naturally aspirated units found in many Japanese competitors. The cabin insulation is specifically tuned to be quieter at higher GCC highway speeds compared to more budget-focused rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 6.5L/100km on the highway, though this can rise to 8.5L/100km in heavy stop-start Dubai traffic. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully compatible with local Super 98 or Special 95 fuel and benefits from the manufacturer's regional cooling upgrades. While European crossovers depreciate slightly faster than Japanese brands in the UAE, the GT trim’s high equipment level helps it retain a higher percentage of its value at the three-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The 1.2L turbocharged 3-cylinder engine produces a characterful note and delivers enough punch for confident merging onto the E11 highway. While it is a front-wheel-drive crossover, the 170mm ground clearance makes it capable of handling gravel tracks and sandy parking lots at beach spots. The automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, making it an ideal companion for the daily cross-emirate commute.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the GT features premium upholstery and the unique small-diameter steering wheel that provides a go-kart-like steering feel. The automatic climate control system is robust enough to handle the peak GCC summer, while the acoustic windshield helps isolate the cabin from exterior heat and road noise. Rear passengers enjoy decent legroom for the segment, and the 434-litre boot is highly practical for weekly grocery runs.

Safety

This GT trim is equipped with a full safety suite including six airbags, electronic stability control, and emergency braking assistance. The inclusion of a 360-degree camera and blind-spot monitoring is particularly helpful for navigating tight parking structures and fast-moving multi-lane traffic. It holds a high safety reputation based on its 5-star Euro NCAP testing, providing peace of mind for small families.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who wants a stylish, tech-heavy European crossover without the premium price tag of a German brand, this GT-spec 2008 is a smart, high-visibility choice.
