Summary

This 2022 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge represents the absolute peak of the luxury SUV segment, finished in the most desirable resale color for the GCC market. With its uprated V12 engine and distinctive dark-chrome aesthetics, the Black Badge trim offers a sharper, more modern character than the standard model. Despite the slightly higher mileage for its age, this GCC-spec example benefits from the robust reliability of the Architecture of Luxury aluminium spaceframe, designed to handle extreme desert heat with ease. For the serious buyer, this listing offers a significant entry point into the most prestigious SUV ever built, maintaining a presence that rivals simply cannot match. It remains the definitive choice for those who require the 'Magic Carpet Ride' without sacrificing the versatility needed for the UAE's varied landscapes.

This Car vs Other 2022 Cullinans

At 67,000 km, this vehicle has been driven more frequently than many 'garage queen' examples, yet it remains well within the expected limits for a GCC-based daily driver used for inter-city commutes. The Black exterior is the top-performing resale color in the region, ensuring maximum value retention when it comes time to trade. Choosing a 2022 model provides a significant price advantage over new units while retaining the identical mechanical platform and cabin technology.

BLACK BADGE vs Lower Trims

The Black Badge trim is far more than an appearance package; it increases the V12's output to 591 hp and adds 50 Nm of torque over the standard Cullinan. Beyond the darker 'Spirit of Ecstasy' and carbon fiber Technical Fibre veneer, this trim adds a more aggressive air suspension calibration and a bespoke exhaust system. These enhancements provide a more driver-centric experience that standard trims lack, making it highly coveted in the local pre-owned market.

Cullinan vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus focus on outright speed or sportiness, the Cullinan leads with unparalleled cabin isolation and the smoothest ride quality in the class. Its physical footprint and high-bodied silhouette offer superior road presence and interior headroom compared to its lower-slung competitors. Additionally, its 'Off-Road' mode is specifically engineered to manage sand and gravel, providing genuine capability for desert excursions that performance-only SUVs avoid.

Running Costs & Resale

The twin-turbo V12 is engineered for 95-octane fuel and typically returns approximately 15.1L/100km on combined cycles, though city driving in heavy GCC traffic will see higher figures. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is supported by an extensive authorized service network including AGMC in the UAE and Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors in Saudi Arabia. While European luxury SUVs typically depreciate by 12-18% annually, the Black Badge trim often outperforms this average due to its high desirability and limited supply in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

The 591 hp V12 delivers a seamless surge of power, reaching 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds—a remarkable feat for a vehicle weighing over 2.6 tonnes. It features a dedicated 'Everywhere' button that optimizes the AWD system and air suspension for varied terrains, including a 500mm wading depth for localized flooding or shallow crossings. The satellite-aided 8-speed transmission uses GPS data to pre-select gears for upcoming terrain, ensuring the drive remains effortless on long desert highways.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of hand-stitched leather and acoustic glass, specifically designed to remain whisper-quiet even at high highway speeds. High-performance multi-zone climate control is standard, capable of cooling the interior rapidly after being parked in the 45°C+ GCC sun. This five-seat configuration provides a massive 600-litre boot, making it as practical for luxury family travel as it is for executive duties.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a comprehensive ADAS suite with Night Vision, a High-Resolution Head-Up Display, and a 360° Vision system with helicopter view—essential for navigating tight urban spaces. For high-speed highway driving, it features Active Cruise Control, Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning to ensure maximum safety. The robust aluminium spaceframe provides exceptional passive protection, a hallmark of the Rolls-Royce brand's engineering philosophy.

The bottom line

For the executive who refuses to settle, this Black Badge Cullinan offers the ultimate combination of V12 performance and iconic presence at a market-reflective price point.
