Summary

This 2022 Volkswagen Teramont Highline is a standout family choice, offering the range-topping luxury spec with significantly lower mileage than is typical for a four-year-old SUV in the GCC. The Highline trim brings premium touches like the Fender audio system and ventilated seating that are essential for local summers, while the Tourmaline Blue finish is a sophisticated high-resale color in the region. Unlike many rivals, the Teramont provides a massive interior where the third row can actually fit adults comfortably on long highway drives between Emirates. For a buyer seeking German engineering with the space of an American SUV and the reliability of a localized GCC service network, this listing represents a well-maintained, high-spec opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2022 Teramonts

With just 39,712 km on the odometer, this Teramont has been driven roughly 10,000 km per year, which is less than half the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. This low-mileage status ensures the mechanical components and interior surfaces remain in far better condition than most 2022 models currently on the market. The deep blue exterior is a premium choice that holds value well in the UAE and Saudi markets compared to basic rental-spec white.

Highline vs Lower Trims

The Highline trim is a significant step up from the Trendline and Comfortline, adding the 12-speaker Fender premium audio system and the 'Digital Cockpit Pro' 10-inch cluster. Crucially for the GCC climate, it features active front seat ventilation and 'Vienna' leather upholstery, which are absent or replaced by synthetic materials on lower trims. You also benefit from the Area View 360 camera and Park Assist, making this 5-meter-long SUV much easier to maneuver in tight city mall parking.

Teramont vs Segment Rivals

When cross-shopped against the Toyota Highlander or Ford Explorer, the Teramont leads the segment in third-row usability and total cargo volume, offering up to 2,735 liters with seats folded. While the Highlander is often favored for its hybrid efficiency, the Teramont's V6 provides a more robust, stable feeling on exposed desert highways during high-speed cruising. Its 70-liter fuel tank is specifically sized to handle long-distance trips across the GCC without frequent stops.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.6L VR6 engine is a proven, naturally aspirated unit that simplifies long-term maintenance compared to complex turbocharged rivals. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.6L/100km in mixed driving, though stop-start city traffic in Riyadh or Dubai can push this to 14.4L/100km. Volkswagen has a massive authorized service presence through Al Nabooda and Ali & Sons in the UAE and Samaco in KSA, ensuring parts are always accessible. This being a GCC-spec Highline, it historically retains roughly 60% of its value after three to four years, outperforming many European luxury imports.

Performance & Capability

The V6 engine delivers a smooth 280 hp and 360 Nm of torque, allowing for a 0–100 km/h sprint in approximately 8.9 seconds—respectable for a vehicle of this size. The 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system features selectable terrain modes, providing extra stability on gravel tracks or sandy patches during weekend family outings. On the highway, the 8-speed automatic transmission is geared for fuel efficiency and quiet refinement, making it an ideal cruiser for cross-border road trips.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Highline caters to GCC family logistics with three-zone Climatronic air conditioning that includes dedicated vents and controls for all three rows. The panoramic sunroof features a heat-insulated glass to protect the cabin from the intense sun, while the second-row sunblinds offer additional privacy and cooling for children. The acoustic glass significantly reduces road noise, creating a quiet sanctuary during fast-paced highway commutes.

Safety

This Highline comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control and Front Assist with City Emergency Braking, which are invaluable for the UAE's high-speed highway environment. It also features Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and six standard airbags providing coverage for all three rows. The Top View 360-degree camera provides a bird's-eye perspective, ensuring total awareness of surroundings in busy urban environments.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a GCC family that needs maximum space and premium features without the high depreciation of a luxury badge. Its low mileage and range-topping Highline spec make it one of the most compelling Teramonts currently available.
