Summary

This 2023 Bentley Bentayga S offers a driver-focused alternative to the standard V8, featuring a more aggressive chassis setup and the factory-fitted sports exhaust as standard. Having covered 40,000 km in 3 years, its mileage reflects a consistent and healthy usage pattern typical for a luxury daily driver in the GCC. The bright Red exterior provides a bold and distinctive presence that stands out significantly compared to the common whites and greys of the region. As a European-spec model, it benefits from high-end interior finishes and advanced safety tech often configured for the continental market. For a buyer looking to balance Bentley's peerless luxury with a genuine performance edge, this specific S trim represents a compelling high-spec opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2023 Bentaygas

With 40,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at an average mileage for its 3-year age in the GCC, where 20,000 km per year is the standard for highway-heavy use. While European-spec cars often command a lower entry price than GCC-spec equivalents, they provide access to the same hand-built V8 performance and premium materials. The Red exterior is a rare choice in a market dominated by neutral tones, offering a unique opportunity for a buyer who prioritizes individuality.

S vs Lower Trims

The S trim adds significant mechanical hardware over the standard V8, most notably the Bentley Dynamic Ride active anti-roll system, which uses a 48V electric motor to flatten the car through corners. It also includes the V8 sports exhaust and a specific 'Sport' drive mode recalibrated for sharper throttle response and firmer damping. Visually, the S is distinguished by its 22-inch wheels and the Blackline specification, which replaces bright chrome with high-gloss black accents.

Bentayga vs Segment Rivals

The Bentayga S competes directly with the Lamborghini Urus and the Aston Martin DBX, offering a more refined and traditional luxury experience than the former while maintaining a higher level of cabin craftsmanship than the latter. Its 85-litre fuel tank ensures a substantial cruising range of approximately 740 km, making it better suited for long-distance cross-border drives between GCC cities. The Bentley also leads in material quality, with its iconic knurled metal and handcrafted leather outclassing the more plastic-heavy interiors of its German rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 13.0L/100km on a combined cycle, though this can rise in the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. As a European-spec vehicle, it is essential to ensure that the cooling system and air conditioning have been maintained to meet the demands of the 50°C summer heat common in the UAE. While European imports generally see a steeper initial depreciation compared to GCC-spec cars, they offer a lower entry point into the ultra-luxury segment. Bentley's extensive authorized service network in major GCC hubs like Abu Dhabi and Jeddah ensures that specialized parts are readily accessible.

Performance & Capability

The 542 hp twin-turbo V8 allows this 2.4-tonne SUV to reach 100 km/h in a supercar-rivalling 4.5 seconds. The 'S' specific chassis tuning makes it surprisingly agile for its size, which is particularly noticeable during high-speed highway lane changes or on the sweeping desert roads of the UAE. Despite its performance focus, the All-Wheel Drive system and adjustable air suspension provide enough ground clearance to handle light sand and gravel trails for weekend escapes.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin features the signature S-trim 'Dinamica' suede-like trim alongside hand-stitched leather, creating a more technical, sporty atmosphere than the standard V8. The four-zone climate control is designed to maintain comfort even in intense humidity, while the 10.9-inch touchscreen provides seamless wireless smartphone integration. Acoustic glazing ensures the cabin remains a silent sanctuary, isolating passengers from the wind noise typically associated with long-distance GCC highway travel.

Safety

Standard safety features include a comprehensive ADAS suite with Blind Spot Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control, which are vital for the fast-paced multi-lane traffic found in the Emirates. The S trim also benefits from matrix LED headlamps that adjust their beam to avoid dazzling other drivers while providing maximum visibility on unlit desert stretches. Its robust construction and full array of airbags provide the top-tier protection expected of a vehicle built on one of the world's most advanced luxury SUV platforms.

The bottom line

This 2023 Bentayga S is the ideal choice for a GCC enthusiast who wants the presence of a Bentley with a sharper, more aggressive driving character. It represents a high-value entry into the current-generation Bentayga range for those who appreciate the distinctive look of a European-configured spec.
