Summary

This 2023 Durango GT offers a compelling balance of muscle-car presence and family-oriented practicality, featuring the refined 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine. With the Vehicle Age at 3 years and a mileage of 124,600 km, it reflects consistent highway use common across the Emirates, making it a mechanically seasoned choice for long-distance cruising. The black exterior is a perennial favorite for resale in the GCC, maintaining its aesthetic appeal and value better than bolder alternatives. As a GCC-spec model, it is factory-optimized for the region's intense summer heat, ensuring the air conditioning and cooling systems perform at their peak. For buyers seeking a three-row SUV that doesn't sacrifice personality for utility, this Durango stands out as a robust and well-equipped contender.

This Car vs Other 2023 Durangos

While the mileage on this unit is higher than the typical GCC average for a three-year-old vehicle, it indicates a history of highway-heavy driving between emirates, which is often easier on the transmission and suspension than short city bursts. The black finish remains one of the most liquid colors in the UAE used market, ensuring faster turnover when it comes time to upgrade. Choosing a GCC-spec 2023 model over American imports ensures full compatibility with local authorized service centers and regional cooling requirements.

GT vs Lower Trims

Moving up to the GT trim from the base SXT significantly enhances the vehicle's presence with 20-inch alloy wheels and aggressive R/T-inspired bodywork. Inside, the GT adds essential GCC comforts like remote engine start—ideal for pre-cooling the cabin—and a power liftgate for added convenience. It also upgrades the seating configuration to a more versatile three-row layout, making it a true family transporter compared to some entry-level five-seat configurations.

Durango vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander, the Durango leads with a more performance-oriented rear-wheel-drive biased chassis that provides superior towing stability. Its 85-litre fuel tank offers an impressive highway range, reducing the frequency of stops on cross-border drives to Oman or Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, its 'Muscle SUV' styling provides a unique road presence that more conservative Japanese and American crossovers in this segment cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.6L V6 is the efficiency leader for the Durango range, averaging approximately 11.8 L/100km on the highway, which helps manage running costs despite the vehicle's size. Service intervals in the GCC are typically every 10,000 km, with a wide network of authorized Mopar service centers available across the UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. The Durango GT maintains a strong resale profile in the region, generally depreciating slower than its European counterparts due to lower parts costs and high demand for seven-seaters.

Performance & Capability

The Durango GT delivers a best-in-class V6 towing capacity of 2,812 kg, making it a legitimate choice for hauling jet skis or small boats to the coast. Its 295 hp Pentastar engine is paired with a smooth 8-speed TorqueFlite transmission, providing effortless overtaking power on the E11. The Four-Wheel Drive system ensures reliable traction during weekend camping trips, providing confidence on gravel tracks and light sandy paths common in the outskirts of the city.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for the long GCC summer, featuring a high-output three-zone climate control system with dedicated vents for all three rows. Acoustic glass and thick insulation keep the cabin remarkably quiet, even at highway speeds, shielding passengers from road noise and heat. Technology is centered around the Uconnect system, which offers seamless smartphone integration for navigation on the go, while the spacious third row genuinely accommodates adult passengers for shorter trips.

Safety

This GT trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including standard Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection, which are vital for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic. It features seven airbags and Electronic Stability Control with Ready Alert Braking to assist in emergency maneuvers. The ParkView rear back-up camera and rear park assist sensors make maneuvering this full-size SUV into tight mall parking spaces much simpler.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs seven-seat utility but refuses to drive a boring minivan, this GCC-spec Durango GT is a muscle-inspired workhorse ready for immediate family duty.
