Summary

This 2023 GAC GS8 GX offers a high-specification entry into the flagship SUV segment with average mileage for its three-year age in the GCC. Finished in White, the most resilient color for resale in the UAE, this AWD crossover provides a premium alternative to established rivals like the Nissan Pathfinder. It stands out with a technology-heavy cabin and a chassis built on GAC's partnerships with global manufacturers for reliability in local heat. For a family seeking a spacious seven-seater with modern driver assistance, this listing represents a significant value-driven opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2023 GS8s

At 71,514 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 23,800 km per year, which is typical for a family SUV in the GCC where highway commutes between emirates are common. Its White exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, offering the highest demand and value retention at resale.

GX vs Lower Trims

The GX is the flagship trim, adding a massive 14.6-inch infotainment screen and a full suite of Level 2 autonomous driving features that are often optional on the GL. GCC buyers specifically benefit from the GX's upgraded ventilated seats and the 360-degree surround-view camera system, which is essential for maneuvering a vehicle of this size in tight urban spaces.

GS8 vs Segment Rivals

The GS8 competes directly with the Nissan Pathfinder and Kia Telluride, leading its segment in standard screen real estate and digital cockpit integration. Its 400 Nm of torque provides a punchier low-end pull for highway overtaking compared to some naturally aspirated V6 competitors in the same price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivers a combined fuel economy of approximately 12.5 km/L, performing efficiently on long GCC highway stretches. GAC has established a robust authorized service network through Gargash in the UAE and Aljomaih in Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts availability across the region. While Chinese brands typically depreciate faster than Japanese icons, the second-generation GS8 holds roughly 50% of its value after three years, supported by its strong tech-to-price ratio.

Performance & Capability

Generating 248 hp and 400 Nm of torque, the GS8 provides effortless highway cruising and confident acceleration during school runs or cross-country road trips. The All Wheel Drive system features selectable terrain modes (Sand, Mud, Snow) designed to handle gravel tracks and light desert soft-sand conditions. The 8-speed Aisin automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, reflecting its role as a comfortable family cruiser rather than a sporty SUV.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features three rows of seating with diamond-stitched leather, providing genuinely usable space for seven passengers. To combat the extreme GCC summer, the GX trim includes a high-capacity climate control system with dedicated rear vents and ventilated front seats as standard. Acoustic glass helps maintain a quiet environment, shielding the cabin from wind noise during high-speed highway travel between cities.

Safety

Safety is a priority with a full ADAS platform including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Traffic Jam Assist. Standard equipment on this trim includes multiple airbags, ISOFIX points for child seats, and Blind-spot Monitoring, which is vital for the fast-moving, multi-lane traffic common in major GCC cities.

The bottom line

This GS8 GX is the ideal choice for a tech-conscious family buyer who wants a flagship 7-seater experience and GCC-spec peace of mind without the premium price of Japanese rivals.
