Summary

This 3-year-old GAC GS8 offers a premium family experience with exceptionally low mileage, covering just 11,478 km since 2023. The black exterior is highly sought after in the GCC for its strong resale demand and sophisticated appearance on urban highways. As a flagship GX trim, it provides a significantly higher level of cabin tech and off-road stability compared to entry-level Chinese SUVs in this segment. The combination of all-wheel drive and a punchy 2.0-litre turbocharged engine makes it a capable companion for both daily school runs and weekend desert escapes. For a GCC buyer, this listing represents a near-new vehicle opportunity with the depreciation benefits of a pre-owned purchase.

This Car vs Other 2023 GS8s

With only 11,478 km on the odometer, this GS8 has been driven roughly 3,800 km per year, which is far below the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. The black exterior finish is a top-tier choice for value retention in the UAE and Saudi Arabian markets, ensuring it remains easier to trade in later. Finding a 3-year-old SUV with this level of mechanical freshness is a distinct advantage for buyers prioritizing longevity.

GX vs Lower Trims

The GX trim sits at the top of the GS8 range, adding essential GCC luxuries such as ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera system that are missing on the GL. It also features an upgraded 10-speaker Alpine audio system and a larger 14.6-inch display, providing a much more modern interface than mid-tier trims. The inclusion of wireless charging and advanced ADAS safety features makes the GX the preferred choice for long-distance highway comfort.

GS8 vs Segment Rivals

The GS8 competes directly with the Haval H9 and MG RX8, leading the segment with its more refined 8-speed Aisin transmission and a significantly larger infotainment screen. While rivals often feel more utilitarian, the GAC focuses on cabin quietness and ride quality, making it more suitable for the long commutes between Emirates. Its 400 Nm of torque provides a smoother overtaking experience on fast-moving highways compared to many naturally aspirated competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this all-wheel-drive petrol model averages around 12.5 to 13.2 km/L on the highway, though city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh will see this figure sit closer to 9 km/L. GAC has a rapidly expanding authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km. While Chinese SUVs generally depreciate faster than Japanese icons, the GS8 GX holds its value better than most in its class due to its high feature density and GCC-spec reliability.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine produces 248 hp, allowing for a 0–100 km/h sprint in 9.5 seconds, which is respectable for a vehicle of this size. The All Wheel Drive system features selectable terrain modes, providing confidence on gravel tracks and light sand during weekend outings. Its 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth power delivery, ensuring comfortable cruising at 120 km/h on the E11 highway even when fully loaded with seven passengers.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout features genuine leather upholstery with ventilated front seats, a critical feature for maintaining comfort during the extreme GCC summer. Multi-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents ensures that passengers in all three rows remain cool, even when exterior temperatures exceed 45°C. The cabin is further elevated by a panoramic sunroof and customizable ambient lighting, creating a luxury atmosphere for evening drives.

Safety

This GX trim comes standard with a full suite of safety technology, including 6 airbags and a 360-degree camera for easy parking in tight city spaces. Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist are particularly useful for reducing driver fatigue on long desert highway stretches. Additional systems like Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert provide vital support in fast-moving, multi-lane GCC traffic.

The bottom line

This is an ideal choice for a family looking for a nearly new, high-spec SUV without the showroom price tag; its exceptionally low mileage makes it the standout GS8 listing currently available.
