Summary

This 2023 INEOS Grenadier Fieldmaster Edition offers a unique opportunity to own a purpose-built 4x4 that bridges the gap between mechanical ruggedness and premium comfort. With 81,000 km, the mileage is average for a three-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where long-distance highway travel is the norm. The Fieldmaster trim is highly desirable in the local market, adding sophisticated interior touches and Safari windows to the legendary body-on-frame chassis. Finished in Black, it maintains strong resale appeal across the region, particularly among enthusiasts who value its classic silhouette and modern BMW-sourced powertrain. For the GCC buyer, this remains the premier choice for a vehicle that can transition from a professional city commuter to a serious desert explorer without compromise.

This Car vs Other 2023 Grenadiers

With 81,000 km on the odometer, this Grenadier has been driven roughly 27,000 km per year, which aligns with typical GCC highway use between major cities. While many enthusiasts keep these as weekend toys, this example's mileage suggests a reliable history of consistent use. The Black exterior is a perennially strong resale choice in the UAE and wider GCC, offering better value retention than more niche utility colors.

FIELDMASTER EDITION vs Lower Trims

The Fieldmaster Edition significantly elevates the cabin experience over the base Station Wagon by adding premium leather upholstery and heated front seats, essential for maintaining luxury during long drives. Distinctive Safari windows and 18-inch alloy wheels come standard, providing a more sophisticated aesthetic and improved cabin light. It also includes an upgraded sound system and a rear-view camera, features that add daily convenience not always found on the more utilitarian base models.

Grenadier vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Land Rover Defender and the Toyota Land Cruiser 300-series, the Grenadier leads with its uncompromising mechanical focus, utilizing solid beam axles and a simplified interior layout. Its 90-litre fuel tank is designed for the long stretches of highway common in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. While rivals rely heavily on electronic terrain management, the Grenadier offers a more tactile, durable experience that seasoned GCC off-roaders prefer for long-term reliability.

Running Costs & Resale

The BMW-sourced 3.0L straight-six petrol engine typically sees real-world consumption of 14–16 L/100km in GCC conditions, depending on the mix of city traffic and highway cruising. Service intervals are recommended every 12 months or 20,000 km, supported by a growing authorized network across the UAE and KSA through partners like AGMC and Adamas. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains higher market confidence and better resale value than imported counterparts, with depreciation stabilized by the high demand for rugged 4x4s.

Performance & Capability

The 286 hp turbocharged engine provides ample torque for navigating soft sand dunes and overtaking on high-speed motorways. Its class-leading 264 mm ground clearance and heavy-duty 3,500 kg towing capacity make it a versatile workhorse for weekend expeditions or hauling equipment. The permanent all-wheel-drive system and center locking differential ensure maximum traction across the diverse terrains of the Arabian Peninsula.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Fieldmaster Edition features a five-seat layout with Recaro seats designed to provide support during bumpy off-road sections and comfort during trans-emirate trips. The air conditioning system is engineered to handle extreme summer heat, complemented by dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers stay cool. The overhead switch panel gives the cockpit an aviation feel while keeping controls accessible even when wearing gloves.

Safety

Standard safety features include a comprehensive suite of airbags and electronic stability control tuned for both road and loose surfaces. The Fieldmaster trim benefits from a rear-view camera and parking sensors, which are invaluable for maneuvering such a boxy vehicle in tight urban spaces. High-performance Brembo brakes provide consistent stopping power, even when the vehicle is fully loaded for a desert camping trip.

The bottom line

Ideal for the enthusiast who wants a legendary off-road platform with the luxury features of a modern SUV, this Fieldmaster Edition is a mechanically sound, GCC-ready adventurer.
