Summary

This 2024 Nissan Patrol Super Safari represents the absolute peak of the legendary Y61 platform, a vehicle that has earned its status as an icon across the Arabian Peninsula. Combining a powerful 4.8L VTC engine with a rare manual transmission, this specific listing is a purist's dream, offering a level of mechanical connection and rugged durability that modern electronic SUVs simply cannot match. With only 31,000 km, this unit is barely broken in and remains under official dealer warranty, ensuring peace of mind for its next owner. Finished in a classic gold that holds its value exceptionally well in the regional market, this is a unique opportunity to own one of the final-production examples of a desert legend.

This Car vs Other 2024 Patrols

With only 31,000 km on the clock, this Super Safari has been driven significantly less than the typical 50,000 km expected for a two-year-old vehicle in the GCC. While many 2024 models are already high-mileage workhorses, this example’s low usage makes it a standout choice for collectors or serious off-roaders. The gold exterior is a prestigious and high-demand color in the region, offering a distinct advantage for future resale value compared to more common white or silver units.

SUPER SAFARI vs Lower Trims

The Super Safari trim is the definitive version of the Y61, adding essential premium features that the standard Safari lacks, including a factory-fitted winch and navigation system. Inside, you get a significant upgrade with tan leather upholstery and wood-grain trim, providing a more executive feel for long highway drives. Crucially, the Super Safari includes a rear locking differential as standard, a hardware necessity for tackling the soft sand of the Empty Quarter that lower trims may lack.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series, the Patrol Super Safari offers a far more civilized cabin experience while maintaining equal levels of legendary reliability. The 4.8L VTC engine provides smoother power delivery and higher top-end performance on the highway than its competitors, making cross-border trips more comfortable. With a large 135-litre fuel tank, the Patrol offers superior range for deep-desert expeditions, often requiring fewer fuel stops than rival SUVs in its class.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.8L manual averages around 17.2 L/100km, reflecting its focus on high-torque durability over efficiency. Nissan boasts one of the most comprehensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available even in remote areas. The Super Safari is famous for its exceptional value retention, typically depreciating at a much slower rate than modern luxury SUVs due to its status as a discontinued mechanical icon.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is the TB48DE 4.8-litre inline-six, producing 280 hp and 451 Nm of torque, optimized for high-revving performance in the dunes. The 5-speed manual transmission is highly sought after in the GCC, giving the driver total control over gear selection during technical climbs or engine braking on steep descents. With a heavy-duty suspension and high ground clearance, it is engineered to withstand the extreme heat and rugged terrain of the region without breaking a sweat.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for the GCC climate, the air conditioning system in the Patrol is legendary for its cooling speed even when temperatures exceed 50°C. The 7-seat layout is versatile, with third-row seating that can be folded to the sides to maximize cargo space for camping gear. The cabin features dedicated rear cooling vents and a sunroof, ensuring all passengers remain comfortable during long drives between the emirates.

Safety

Standard safety features include dual front airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) to maintain stability on loose sand and gravel. This trim is also equipped with a rear-view camera and parking sensors, providing much-needed visibility when maneuvering such a large vehicle in tight urban spaces. Cruise control is standard, offering relief for the driver during long desert highway stretches.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who values mechanical purity and legendary off-road heritage, this low-mileage 2024 manual Super Safari is the ultimate GCC-spec icon.
