Summary

This 2023 First Edition marks the pinnacle of the Range Rover Sport's relaunch, featuring the high-performance twin-turbo V8 that remains a top choice for GCC buyers. With its mileage considered average for a 3-year-old luxury SUV in the region, it has been driven primarily on high-speed roads where the mechanical stress is significantly lower than in urban environments. The Grey exterior is a highly sought-after resale color in the UAE, ensuring the vehicle holds its value better than more niche shades. As a First Edition, it is equipped with every key technology for the climate, including advanced four-zone cooling and ventilated seating for all passengers. This model offers a sharper, more focused drive than the full-size Range Rover while maintaining the prestige expected of the brand.

This Car vs Other 2023 Range Rover Sports

At 80,000 km over 3 years, this vehicle sits within the typical annual range for luxury SUVs in the GCC, where highway commutes between emirates are common. Unlike lower-mileage examples that may have sat idle, this car has been consistently maintained to handle the local heat and high-speed driving. The Grey metallic finish is a strategic choice for the UAE market, consistently ranking as one of the top three colors for fast resale and value retention.

FIRST EDITION vs Lower Trims

The First Edition adds significant hardware that GCC buyers prioritize, most notably the All-Wheel Steering system which makes navigating tight Dubai parking structures far easier. It upgrades the cabin with 22-way massage seats and the Meridian 3D Surround Sound system, features often missing from the SE or Dynamic trims. Additionally, it includes the high-specification Dynamic Response Pro suspension for better stability during high-speed highway cornering.

Range Rover Sport vs Segment Rivals

The Range Rover Sport leads rivals like the Porsche Cayenne and BMW X5 when it comes to genuine off-road hardware, offering a 900 mm wading depth that is invaluable during sudden seasonal flooding. Its Pivi Pro infotainment system is more intuitive for regional navigation than many competitors, and the 90-litre fuel tank provides a superior range for cross-border drives to Oman or Saudi Arabia. While rivals focus on track performance, this model balances that speed with the best cabin insulation in its class.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.4L twin-turbo V8 is surprisingly efficient on long highway runs, averaging approximately 11.2L/100km, though this will increase in stop-start traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a wide network of authorized service centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts are always available. Resale remains strong for V8 Range Rovers in this region, typically retaining a higher percentage of value after 3 years compared to European competitors with smaller displacement engines.

Performance & Capability

A 0-100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds ensures effortless overtaking on the E11, backed by 750 Nm of torque from the BMW-sourced V8. The Terrain Response 2 system automatically adjusts for sand and gravel, making it perfectly suited for weekend escapes to the dunes. With 281 mm of maximum ground clearance, it clears obstacles that would stop other luxury crossovers, all while maintaining a smooth ride via its adaptive air suspension.

Comfort & Cabin

The First Edition interior is designed for the extreme GCC summer, featuring four-zone climate control and Perforated Semi-Aniline leather that stays cooler under direct sunlight. All five passengers benefit from ventilated seats, a critical feature for comfort during the hotter months. The cabin is further refined with acoustic laminated glass, which keeps the interior silent even when cruising at 140 km/h on desert highways.

Safety

This trim includes a comprehensive ADAS suite, featuring a 360-degree 3D surround camera that is essential for maneuvering a large SUV in tight urban spaces. Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist reduces fatigue on long drives across the Emirates, while Blind Spot Assist provides an extra layer of safety on fast-moving multi-lane roads. The vehicle's high-strength aluminum architecture and full suite of airbags provide world-class protection for all occupants.

The bottom line

This is a prime opportunity for a buyer seeking the ultimate launch-spec Range Rover Sport with the desirable V8 powertrain and a resale-friendly color. It is the ideal choice for an executive or family that demands high performance and total comfort for both city commutes and long-distance GCC travel.
