Summary

This 2023 Range Rover Sport Dynamic HSE P400 represents the first year of the redesigned third generation, offering a significantly more modern cabin and sharper silhouette than its predecessor. With 49,000 km over three years, it sits within the expected mileage range for a high-end GCC SUV, and its black exterior remains a top-tier choice for resale value in the UAE market. The P400 powertrain delivers a refined 400 hp that balances daily city usability with the effortless highway cruising power expected of a flagship British SUV. For a GCC buyer, this model stands out as a versatile all-rounder that transitions seamlessly from executive city commuting to weekend escapes across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2023 Range Rover Sports

At 49,000 km, this vehicle’s usage is consistent with typical GCC luxury SUV patterns, where long-distance highway commutes between cities are common. While many examples in the region are driven extensively, this car has averaged approximately 16,300 km per year, which is well below the 20,000–25,000 km average for the region. The black-on-black color configuration is highly sought after in the local secondary market, ensuring it remains one of the easiest specifications to trade or sell later.

DYNAMIC HSE P400 vs Lower Trims

The Dynamic HSE is a significant step up from the base SE and Dynamic SE trims, introducing features that are essential for the GCC climate, such as ventilated front and rear seats. It adds premium Semi-Aniline leather upholstery and the superior 800W Meridian 3D Surround Sound System as standard. Furthermore, the HSE trim includes the high-definition Pixel LED headlights and a more advanced 360-degree 3D surround camera system, providing much better visibility during dusty conditions or tight urban parking.

Range Rover Sport vs Segment Rivals

The Range Rover Sport is frequently cross-shopped with the Porsche Cayenne and BMW X5. While the German rivals focus on on-road agility, the Sport leads the segment with its superior 281 mm maximum ground clearance and its sophisticated Terrain Response 2 system, making it far more capable for desert floor excursions. It also offers a more commanding 'Command Driving Position' and a larger 90-litre fuel tank, providing greater range for long-distance cross-border drives compared to most European competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the P400 Mild Hybrid powertrain typically averages around 10–11 L/100km, making it one of the more efficient large-displacement SUVs in the GCC. Land Rover’s authorized service network is extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, with service intervals typically set every 16,000 km or 12 months. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a significant value premium over non-regional imports, and the 3-year mark is often considered the 'sweet spot' for resale, as it has already moved past the initial steep depreciation curve.

Performance & Capability

The P400 engine utilizes a 3.0-litre twin-charged straight-six producing 400 hp and 550 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.7 seconds. This performance is ideal for safe overtaking on fast-moving UAE highways like the E11. Beyond speed, the vehicle features advanced air suspension that can raise for off-road obstacles or lower for improved stability and ease of access. Its 3,500 kg braked towing capacity also makes it a capable choice for those hauling boats or trailers to the coast.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 5-seat sanctuary designed for extreme heat, featuring a powerful multi-zone climate control system and 20-way adjustable heated and ventilated seats. The Pivi Pro infotainment system is centered around a crisp 13.1-inch curved glass touchscreen with wireless smartphone integration. Passengers in the rear benefit from dedicated cooling vents and a panoramic roof that features high-quality thermal tinting to minimize cabin heat soak during the peak of summer.

Safety

This Dynamic HSE trim is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist, which is invaluable for reducing fatigue on long desert drives. Standard safety tech includes Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and a ClearSight Ground View system that allows you to 'see through' the hood for precise maneuvering. The Blind Spot Assist and Rear Collision Monitor provide essential protection in the fast-paced, multi-lane traffic common in major GCC cities.

The bottom line

This is the perfect opportunity for a buyer seeking the latest Range Rover generation in a high-resale specification with a documented history and sensible mileage.
