Summary

This 2022 Mitsubishi Attrage GLX Highline represents a highly practical choice for the GCC market, offering a modern facelifted design with significant fuel economy advantages. Silver remains one of the strongest resale colors in the region, resisting heat and maintaining its luster better than darker shades. While its mileage is average for a three-year-old commuter in the UAE, the vehicle’s mechanical simplicity ensures long-term reliability. It stands out in the sub-compact segment for its ease of maneuvering in tight urban spaces like Deira or Bur Dubai. For a GCC buyer, the primary draw here is the combination of Japanese engineering and an extremely low total cost of ownership.

This Car vs Other 2022 Attrages

With approximately 98,213 km, this Attrage sits within the expected range for a high-utility commuter in the GCC. While many examples are found in basic fleet specifications, this Highline trim offers a more refined daily experience with better interior materials and technology. The silver exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, ensuring better heat reflection during peak summer and higher demand at resale compared to niche colors.

GLX HIGHLINE vs Lower Trims

The GLX Highline adds essential convenience features that GCC drivers value, such as steering wheel-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, allowing for safer hands-free communication on the highway. Unlike the base fleet models, the Highline typically includes a 7-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. You also benefit from a more premium interior finish and enhanced comfort features like a height-adjustable driver's seat and a high-contrast instrument cluster.

Attrage vs Segment Rivals

The Attrage leads rivals like the Suzuki Dzire and Toyota Yaris when it comes to urban agility, featuring a class-leading 4.8-meter turning circle that makes U-turns effortless. Its 450-litre boot space is surprisingly generous for a sub-compact sedan, outclassing several larger vehicles in cargo practicality. While rivals might offer more horsepower, the Attrage focuses on efficiency, making it the preferred choice for those prioritizing fuel savings on long commutes between Sharjah and Dubai.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption is a major strength, averaging around 4.8 to 5.0 L/100km on the highway, making it one of the most economical petrol cars in the region. Mitsubishi's extensive service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures that parts are affordable and specialized labor is never far away. The Attrage maintains a very stable depreciation curve in the GCC, typically retaining higher value than European sub-compacts due to its reputation for bulletproof reliability in extreme heat.

Performance & Capability

The 1.2-liter MIVEC engine is designed for efficiency rather than raw speed, providing a steady and predictable power delivery suitable for city traffic. Paired with the INVECS-III CVT transmission, it offers a smooth, gear-shift-free experience that excels in the stop-start traffic of major GCC cities. With a top speed of 170 km/h and stable highway manners, it handles the 140 km/h speed limits of the E11 motorway with poise. Its lightweight construction ensures that the 76 hp feels responsive enough for confident urban lane changes.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Attrage maximizes passenger space with a 'people-first' philosophy, providing enough legroom for five adults to travel comfortably. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered for high-temperature markets, cooling the cabin rapidly even after the car has been parked in the sun. The 450-litre boot is deep and wide, easily accommodating large grocery hauls or family airport luggage. High-quality fabric seats and well-placed storage bins make it a highly functional environment for daily errands.

Safety

Safety is managed through Mitsubishi's Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body construction, which effectively absorbs energy during a collision. This Highline trim comes standard with dual front SRS airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Active Stability Control (ASC). These systems provide essential support during sudden maneuvers on sand-dusted roads or during the rare but heavy GCC rain showers.

The bottom line

Perfect for the budget-conscious professional or a small family, this Attrage offers the ideal balance of Japanese reliability and class-leading fuel economy in a modern Highline trim.
