Summary

This 3-year-old Model Y Performance is a standout choice for those seeking supercar-level acceleration in a practical family crossover. While its mileage is typical for a high-usage GCC commuter, its white exterior is the region's strongest resale color, effectively masking dust and reflecting heat. As the Performance trim, it carries exclusive factory upgrades that elevate it far above the standard Long Range model. For a buyer in the UAE or wider GCC, this vehicle offers the perfect blend of cutting-edge tech and reduced maintenance costs compared to petrol rivals. It remains one of the most sought-after EVs in the local market due to Tesla's unmatched Supercharger infrastructure.

This Car vs Other 2023 Model Ys

With 104,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at the average mileage mark for a three-year-old GCC commuter, reflecting the long-distance highway driving typical between Emirates. Its white paint is the most practical choice for the Middle East, offering superior heat rejection and the highest demand in the local used market. Unlike imports, this GCC-spec example ensures seamless access to the regional Tesla service network and charging infrastructure.

PERFORMANCE vs Lower Trims

The Performance trim adds significant hardware upgrades over the Long Range, including 21-inch Uberturbine wheels, lowered suspension for better handling, and uprated performance brakes with red calipers. It also features a carbon fiber rear spoiler and aluminum alloy pedals, alongside the exclusive 'Track Mode' which allows for customized power distribution. Inside, it comes standard with the full 13-speaker premium audio suite and 250 kW peak DC charging capability.

Model Y vs Segment Rivals

The Model Y Performance leads rivals like the BMW iX3 and Audi Q4 e-tron in raw acceleration and charging speed, utilizing the extensive Supercharger network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. While European rivals offer more traditional luxury finishes, the Tesla provides significantly more storage via its front trunk (frunk) and a more advanced minimalist cabin. Its software-first approach ensures features like Sentry Mode and Autopilot remain ahead of the segment standard.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low as the dual-motor system requires no oil changes, spark plugs, or transmission fluid services, with the regenerative braking system significantly extending brake pad life. Maintenance in the GCC is simplified by an expanding network of authorized service centers in major cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh. In the local market, the Model Y Performance enjoys strong value retention, typically depreciating at a slower rate than non-Tesla luxury electric SUVs.

Performance & Capability

Delivering a verified 0–100 km/h time of 3.7 seconds, this crossover provides immediate torque for effortless highway overtaking on fast-moving UAE roads. The dual-motor Four Wheel Drive system ensures maximum traction on both rain-slicked tarmac and sandy gravel surfaces often found in suburban developments. With a top speed of 250 km/h, it maintains composed stability during high-speed cruising between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful dual-zone climate control system and rear air vents to keep all five passengers cool during peak summer. The expansive glass roof is factory-tinted with ultraviolet and infrared protection to minimize cabin heat soak. The 15-inch central display serves as the hub for all tech, including built-in navigation that accounts for real-time charger availability across the region.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus with a full suite of active features including Collision Avoidance, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Lane Departure Avoidance standard on this trim. The rigid body structure and low center of gravity from the floor-mounted battery pack provide exceptional rollover protection. Multiple airbags and advanced crumple zones helped this model achieve top safety ratings globally, making it a premier choice for families.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who wants the fastest, most technologically advanced crossover without the high maintenance of a petrol SUV, this GCC-spec Performance trim is the ideal opportunity.
