Summary

This 2023 Toyota Prado EXR represents a rock-solid opportunity in the GCC market, combining the highly desirable 4.0L V6 engine with the practicality of a seven-seat layout. Finished in white—the strongest color for local resale and thermal efficiency—this GCC-spec SUV has covered 80,384 km, reflecting typical highway-focused use for its age. While the EXR serves as the essential gateway to the Prado range, it retains all the legendary off-road hardware that defines the model's reputation in the desert. Compared to rivals, it offers unmatched reliability and a dual-tank system that is perfect for cross-border GCC road trips. For a buyer seeking the ultimate balance of utility and value retention, this clean example is a premier choice.

This Car vs Other 2023 Prados

With approximately 80,000 km, this Prado’s mileage is average for a GCC-based workhorse that likely handled daily commutes between emirates. The white exterior is the gold standard for the local used market, ensuring faster resale and better cooling performance during the peak summer months compared to darker hues.

EXR vs Lower Trims

While many entry-level SUVs in this segment start with 4-cylinder engines, the EXR trim ensures you have the 4.0L V6 as standard. It includes essential GCC features like a high-output air conditioning system, a cool box for beverages, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, focusing on durability over complex electronics that can be sensitive to extreme heat.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado consistently leads competitors like the Mitsubishi Montero Sport and Ford Everest in long-term value retention. Its standout advantage is the massive 150-litre dual-tank capacity, providing a significantly longer touring range for desert exploration and long-distance highway hauls compared to the smaller tanks found in most rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is known for its bulletproof reliability, typically requiring service every 10,000 km at any authorized Toyota center across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, or Oman. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 13 L/100km in city traffic and drops to approximately 9.5 L/100km on the highway. Prados enjoy some of the lowest depreciation rates in the region, often retaining over 85% of their value after the first three years.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with 271 hp and 381 Nm of torque, this V6 offers smooth, linear power that is essential for climbing dunes or overtaking on the E11 highway. The full-time 4WD system includes a Torsen limited-slip center differential and low-range gearing, providing genuine off-road capability that most crossovers cannot match. With 215 mm of ground clearance, it is equally comfortable at a desert campsite as it is in urban traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat configuration is designed for GCC families, featuring a flexible third row that folds flat for extra cargo space. Dual-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents ensures all passengers remain comfortable even when outside temperatures exceed 45°C. The cabin also features a factory-integrated cool box in the center console, a must-have for keeping drinks cold during summer drives.

Safety

This GCC-spec Prado EXR is equipped with essential safety systems including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Active Traction Control (ATRC), and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC). Standard airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchors provide peace of mind for family use, while the rear-view camera and parking sensors aid in maneuvering this large SUV through tight city spaces.

The bottom line

This Prado is the ideal match for a GCC resident who needs a reliable family vehicle that can double as a weekend desert explorer without sacrificing long-term resale value.
