Summary

This 2023 Touareg R-Line Black represents a highly desirable spec in the GCC, combining the visual aggression of the Black Style package with a refined 340 hp V6 powertrain. With 72,000 km, its mileage reflects a typical highway-heavy life in the region, ensuring the mechanical components have been regularly cycled at operating temperatures. The Blue exterior is a sophisticated alternative to the common grayscale palette while maintaining strong secondary market appeal. As a GCC-spec model, it offers the cooling capacity and infotainment compatibility essential for long-distance desert drives and extreme summer heat. For a buyer seeking the tech of a modern luxury SUV without the depreciation curve of a brand-new showroom unit, this listing is a mathematically sound choice.

This Car vs Other 2023 Touaregs

While 72,000 km is slightly above the global average for a one-year-old vehicle, it is typical for a GCC-based executive SUV frequently used for inter-emirate travel. This mileage suggests the vehicle has spent most of its life at steady highway speeds, which is often preferable to the stop-start wear of low-mileage city commuters. The Blue metallic finish is a premium choice that stands out in Dubai or Riyadh traffic while remaining a safe bet for future resale value.

R-LINE BLACK vs Lower Trims

The R-Line Black trim adds a distinct visual edge with its blacked-out grille, mirror caps, and window surrounds, replacing the chrome found on the Trend and Atmosphere trims. Inside, you receive the full Innovision Cockpit, featuring a massive 15-inch infotainment display and ventilated front seats, which are critical for comfort during the peak GCC summer. It also includes upgraded R-Line Puglia leather and soft-close doors, features rarely found in the entry-level 2.0L models.

Touareg vs Segment Rivals

The Touareg leads its segment in pure cargo utility, offering 810 litres of boot space, significantly outpacing the BMW X5 and Lexus RX for family road trips. Its 3.0L V6 provides a smoother, more effortless highway cruising experience than the 4-cylinder rivals often sold at this price point. Furthermore, the 75-litre fuel tank ensures a substantial driving range, reducing the frequency of stops on long trans-border journeys across the GCC.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0L V6 typically averages around 10.8 L/100km, though this will fluctuate in heavy city traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. Service intervals are recommended every 15,000 km, and with one of the most robust authorized service networks in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, maintenance is straightforward. The Touareg historically retains roughly 50% of its value after three years in the GCC, benefiting from its shared platform with high-end luxury SUVs like the Porsche Cayenne.

Performance & Capability

The 340 hp turbocharged V6 delivers a prompt 0-100 km/h time of 6.1 seconds, providing plenty of power for confident overtaking on high-speed motorways. Its permanent 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system is paired with selectable terrain modes, making it capable of handling gravel tracks and sandy weekend escapes. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for refinement, keeping engine RPMs low during 120 km/h cruising for maximum cabin quietness.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a tech-forward space dominated by the 15-inch Discover Premium touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital cockpit. High-power GCC-spec air conditioning with 4-zone climate control ensures all five passengers remain cool, while the ventilated R-Line seats provide essential relief during midday drives. Acoustic glass insulation keeps the interior remarkably quiet, shielding occupants from wind noise during long-distance travel.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include a comprehensive ADAS suite with Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, and Front Cross Traffic Alert, all of which are invaluable for navigating busy multi-lane highways. The vehicle is equipped with a 360° camera system to assist in tight urban parking, along with a full array of airbags and Electronic Stability Control calibrated for both high-speed tarmac and loose desert surfaces.

The bottom line

This Touareg R-Line Black is the ideal balance of German engineering and GCC-specific luxury, perfect for the professional who demands high-tech features and effortless highway performance. It represents a sharp value proposition for those who value the R-Line's aggressive styling and the V6's proven reliability.
