Summary

This 2024 Ford Mustang Premium is an exceptional find in the GCC market, offering the high-output 500 hp configuration usually reserved for the Dark Horse in a more refined package. With just 22,000 km, this 2-year-old coupe has been driven exactly in line with GCC annual averages, ensuring it is mechanically primed without excessive wear. The Grey exterior is a highly resilient choice for the local climate, maintaining a professional look despite the dust and heat while securing strong resale interest. As the first year of the seventh-generation S650, this model stands out with its fighter-jet inspired cockpit and significantly upgraded digital architecture compared to its predecessors. For any enthusiast in the region, the combination of a naturally aspirated V8 and the latest cabin technology makes this a definitive daily-driver muscle car.

This Car vs Other 2024 Mustangs

With 22,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits perfectly at the average usage mark for a 2-year-old performance car in the GCC, where 20,000–25,000 km per year is standard. The Grey exterior is a strategic choice for the UAE and wider region, as it hides road film better than black and retains value more effectively than brighter, niche colors. Being a GCC-spec model, it features the necessary cooling upgrades and regional warranty compatibility that American-spec imports often lack.

PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim is a significant leap over the standard GT, adding essential GCC comforts like ventilated and heated front seats along with a heated steering wheel. It replaces the basic 6-speaker setup with a premium 9-speaker audio system and upgrades the cabin with multi-color ambient lighting and ActiveX synthetic leather upholstery. Additionally, this trim includes the larger 13.2-inch curved glass display and a wireless charging pad as standard equipment.

Mustang vs Segment Rivals

The Mustang leads its primary rivals, the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, by offering a vastly more modern interior architecture featuring a 12.4-inch digital cluster and 13.2-inch infotainment screen. While competitors have largely ceased production or rely on older platforms, the S650 Mustang provides a fresh 7th-generation chassis with superior daily visibility and advanced ADAS features. Its 5.0L Coyote engine remains a segment benchmark for reliability and ease of servicing across the extensive Ford GCC network.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.0L V8 averages around 13.5L/100km in GCC city traffic, improving to approximately 9.5L/100km during long-distance highway cruises between emirates. Service intervals are set at every 10,000 km, and Ford's authorized service network is one of the most robust in the region, with major centers in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Kuwait City. The 2024 model year marks a new generation, which historically results in slower depreciation and higher value retention compared to the outgoing models.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with the 500 hp 5.0-litre V8, this Mustang delivers a blistering 0–100 km/h time of just 4.3 seconds. The 10-speed automatic transmission is specifically tuned for both rapid highway overtaking and smooth city commuting, while selectable drive modes allow the driver to adjust steering weight and exhaust notes instantly. The rear-wheel-drive platform and performance-tuned suspension provide a sharp, engaging drive that feels right at home on well-maintained UAE highways or during track sessions at the Dubai Autodrome.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a massive dual-display setup that creates a seamless digital cockpit, a first for the Mustang line. GCC-specific comfort is handled by high-output dual-zone automatic climate control and ventilated seats that are essential for the summer months. Despite its performance focus, the 4-seat layout provides enough space for occasional rear passengers, and the 377-litre boot offers genuine practicality for weekend trips away from the city.

Safety

Safety is managed by the standard Ford Co-Pilot360 suite, which is particularly useful for the fast-paced multi-lane highways of the GCC. It includes Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping Assist, and Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking. These active systems provide an extra layer of security when navigating busy urban environments like Sheikh Zayed Road or during long, monotonous desert highway drives.

The bottom line

This 2024 Premium trim is the perfect choice for a buyer who wants the very latest in Ford performance and technology without the harshness of a track-only setup. It represents a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage, GCC-spec S650 that is ready for both the daily commute and the weekend open road.
