Summary

This 2024 Grand Cherokee L Altitude offers a sophisticated balance of family practicality and modern aesthetics, finished in a high-resale White that performs exceptionally well in the GCC used market. With a three-row configuration seating seven, it addresses the core needs of regional buyers looking for a premium family hauler without the bulk of a full-size SUV. The Altitude trim stands out with its distinct blackout exterior accents and upgraded cabin materials, making it a sharper choice than the base models. Given its age and mileage, this vehicle remains a mechanically fresh option for those navigating daily commutes in the UAE or planning long-distance weekend trips across the borders. For a GCC buyer, this model provides the essential blend of regional spec reliability and American SUV versatility.

This Car vs Other 2024 Grand Cherokee Ls

With 50,600 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at a typical usage level for the GCC market, where annual averages often reach 25,000 km due to highway-intensive travel between emirates. The crisp White exterior is one of the most sought-after colors in the region, ensuring better heat reflection during peak summer and a significantly easier resale process compared to darker shades. As a 2024 model, it benefits from the latest generation's structural refinements and cabin tech, positioning it as a near-new alternative to a showroom purchase.

ALTITUDE vs Lower Trims

The Altitude trim provides a significant visual and functional step up over the base Laredo, adding 20-inch gloss black wheels and matching blackout exterior trim that are highly popular in the local market. Inside, it introduces premium Capri leatherette and suede-trimmed upholstery, replacing standard cloth for a more durable and executive feel. Crucially for the GCC climate, it includes a wireless charging pad and remote vehicle start as standard, allowing you to cool the cabin before entering—a feature often missing or optional on lower tiers.

Grand Cherokee L vs Segment Rivals

The Grand Cherokee L competes directly with the Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander, leading the segment with a robust 2,812 kg towing capacity for those with marine or desert hobby requirements. Unlike its rivals, it offers a more premium, unibody construction that delivers superior highway refinement on the E11 while maintaining the off-road heritage Jeep is known for. Its 121.7-inch wheelbase ensures that the third row is genuinely usable for families, providing more breathing room than many compact seven-seaters.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.6L V6 typically averages around 11.3 L/100km combined, with highway efficiency improving during long-distance cruising across the GCC. Jeep maintains a strong authorized service network through established distributors like Al Futtaim in the UAE, ensuring parts and expert maintenance are readily available. The Grand Cherokee L has shown stable value retention in the regional market, generally depreciating at a competitive rate for American SUVs, especially when presented in a GCC-spec configuration.

Performance & Capability

The 3.6L Pentastar V6 produces 293 hp, providing smooth and reliable power for highway overtaking and heavy-load hauling. While this trim focuses on road-going comfort, the Selec-Terrain system allows for confident management of sand and gravel surfaces during weekend escapes. With a maximum braked towing capacity of 2,812 kg, it is one of the most capable vehicles in its class for towing jet skis or small trailers. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for efficiency, keeping the engine in its optimal power band during high-speed desert transits.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is designed for flexibility, featuring easy-entry slide second-row seating that grants quick access to the rear. Tri-zone automatic climate control is standard, featuring dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure consistent cooling during extreme summer temperatures. Even with all seven seats occupied, the cabin provides 487 litres of cargo volume, expanding to a massive 2,396 litres when all rear seats are folded flat. Standard heated front seats and a heated steering wheel offer additional comfort during the cooler winter months in the desert.

Safety

This Altitude trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, which is invaluable for the frequent speed changes on GCC highways. Standard driver aids include Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path Detection, and Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking. The ParkView rear back-up camera and ParkSense sensors make maneuvering this extended SUV into tight city parking spaces significantly safer and easier.

The bottom line

Perfect for the growing family that needs seven seats and premium styling, this GCC-spec Altitude is a modern, high-resale opportunity in the current market.
