Summary

This 2024 model year SUV represents a massive value proposition for those who require the immense power of a 5.6-litre V8 without the premium MSRP of regional dealership stock. Being the SL trim, it arrives with a significantly higher specification than base models, featuring premium leather upholstery and advanced technology that makes it a perfect long-distance cruiser between cities. The exterior color is the most practical and sought-after choice for the GCC climate, ensuring the cabin stays cooler during peak summer and maintaining the strongest possible resale demand in the local market. For those planning weekend adventures, the inclusion of a proper low-range transfer case makes this a genuine contender for desert excursions beyond the reach of standard crossovers. The combination of an eight-seat configuration and a robust powertrain makes it a stand-out choice for large families who prioritize durability and towing capability. As a non-GCC spec vehicle, this listing offers a chance to own a nearly new flagship SUV at a price point that undercuts local equivalents, provided the buyer is comfortable with specialized service centers.

This Car vs Other 2024 Armadas

While typical 2024 models in the GCC market are often used as daily commuters for large families covering up to 25,000 km annually, this particular example presents as a fresh alternative with its current condition. Its white exterior is a strategic advantage in the region, as it is the most resilient color against the harsh UV rays and maintains higher value retention than darker alternatives. Since many 2024 units have already seen heavy school-run and highway duties, this car’s fresh status makes it a highly attractive entry point for a buyer looking for a late-model V8 SUV. The interior shows the benefit of the SL package's upgraded materials, which often provide better long-term durability against the heat compared to the cloth interiors found on entry-level versions. Choosing this year model ensures you are getting the finalized refinements of this platform, characterized by improved cabin insulation and smoother transmission shifts compared to older iterations.

SL vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the SL trim adds several features that are considered essentials rather than luxuries in the GCC climate. Unlike the lower SV trim, the SL includes a power-sliding glass moonroof and a 360-degree around-view monitor, which is indispensable for navigating tight parking spots in busy malls across Dubai or Riyadh. You also benefit from a premium Bose audio system with 13 speakers, providing high-fidelity sound that remains clear even over highway wind noise. The cabin is further elevated with genuine leather-appointed seating and a heater/memory function for the front seats and steering wheel. Additionally, the SL trim often includes the remote engine start system, allowing you to cool the cabin to a comfortable temperature before ever stepping inside during the 45-degree summer months. Power liftgate functionality also comes standard here, adding a layer of daily convenience that base models lack.

Armada vs Segment Rivals

The Armada remains one of the few luxury-oriented SUVs that retains a traditional body-on-frame construction, giving it a mechanical edge over the Ford Expedition and Chevrolet Tahoe in terms of long-term ruggedness. Its 5.6-litre Endurance V8 engine is renowned for its reliability and smooth power delivery, often preferred by GCC buyers over the turbocharged V6 engines found in some modern competitors. While the Tahoe offers a large footprint, the Armada’s interior emphasizes a more premium, near-Infiniti level of material quality in the SL trim. It also features a class-leading approach angle and a robust 4WD system that makes it more capable in soft sand than many of its more 'urban-focused' rivals. For drivers who frequently travel across borders or between emirates, the substantial fuel tank and heavy-duty cooling system give it a distinct advantage during long-distance summer journeys.

Running Costs & Resale

Owners can expect a real-world fuel consumption of approximately 15 to 17 litres per 100km in mixed GCC driving, with highway cruising being surprisingly efficient thanks to the V8’s low-RPM torque. Reliability is a hallmark of this powertrain, and while this is a non-GCC spec vehicle, parts availability is excellent across the UAE and Saudi Arabia due to the massive shared parts bin with the local Patrol and Armada models. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and plenty of specialized independent garages across the Emirates can maintain this vehicle to factory standards. In terms of resale, Japanese-engineered V8 SUVs are among the slowest-depreciating vehicles in the region, often holding 60-70% of their value even after three or four years. This specific white-on-black color combination is the most liquid configuration in the used market, ensuring a quick exit when it comes time to upgrade. While the non-GCC status should be considered regarding official agency warranties, the mechanical simplicity of this model makes it a low-risk long-term investment.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this SUV is its 400-horsepower V8 engine, which provides effortless acceleration and a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 6.5 seconds—impressive for a vehicle of this size. This power is particularly useful for safe overtaking on the high-speed E11 or E311 highways, where maintaining pace is essential. With a towing capacity of up to 3,850 kg, it can easily haul large boats or horse trailers, catering to the active lifestyle of many GCC residents. The ground clearance of 234 mm allows it to clear significant obstacles, whether navigating a construction-heavy neighborhood or heading into the dunes for a weekend. The 4WD system includes a dedicated low-range mode (4L), which is a critical feature for serious sand driving and provides peace of mind when exploring rugged terrain in the Northern Emirates or Oman. All-season dampers ensure that despite its off-road chops, the highway ride remains plush and composed.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed as a true eight-passenger sanctuary, featuring three rows of seating with ample legroom for both adults and children. For the GCC buyer, the powerful tri-zone automatic climate control system is a standout, featuring dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure rapid cooling after the car has been parked in the sun. Acoustic glass and extensive sound deadening keep the interior remarkably quiet, shielding passengers from the roar of city traffic. The SL's leather seating is supple and durable, designed to withstand the wear of a large family while being easy to clean. Technology is front and center with a 12.3-inch touchscreen that supports wireless smartphone integration, allowing for seamless navigation via Google Maps or Waze during cross-country drives. Cargo space is also generous, especially with the power-folding third row, making it ideal for large grocery hauls or holiday luggage.

Safety

Safety is paramount in this trim, which comes standard with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite. This includes features like Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, which provides an extra layer of security in unpredictable city traffic. For the long desert highways, the Intelligent Cruise Control and Lane Departure Warning work together to reduce driver fatigue during three or four-hour stints behind the wheel. Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are particularly helpful in an SUV of this scale, providing visual and audible cues when vehicles are lurking in hard-to-see areas. The vehicle is also equipped with a comprehensive airbag system and a high-strength steel frame designed to protect all eight occupants in the event of an impact. These active systems are standard on the SL, whereas they are often expensive paid options on many competing American SUVs.

The bottom line

This 2024 Armada SL is an ideal match for the large family that wants V8 power and premium leather luxury without the steep price of a GCC-spec agency car. It is a mechanically bulletproof, desert-ready powerhouse that offers more standard tech than its rivals, making it a smart, high-value acquisition for the savvy UAE buyer.
