Summary

This 2024 Nissan Patrol Super Safari is a standout opportunity, offering exceptionally low mileage that places it far ahead of typical GCC used market examples. Finished in black, a strong resale color for the region, this legendary 'Y61' generation combines a cult-status powertrain with modern factory refinements. While many rivals have moved to complex electronics, the Super Safari remains a favorite for its mechanical simplicity and unmatched durability in extreme desert heat. For the GCC buyer, this is the final chance to own a nearly new example of a vehicle built specifically to endure the harshest Arabian Peninsula conditions for decades.

This Car vs Other 2024 Patrols

With just 8,200 km, this vehicle is essentially in showroom condition, contrasting sharply with the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. While modern Y62 Patrols offer more luxury tech, this Super Safari variant holds its value through mechanical purity and a dedicated enthusiast following. The black exterior is a high-demand choice in the local market, ensuring it remains a liquid asset for future resale.

SUPER SAFARI vs Lower Trims

The Super Safari trim adds significant premium features over the standard Safari, including tan leather upholstery, wood-grain interior accents, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. It also features unique aesthetic upgrades like the 'Super Safari' body graphics and machine-cut 17-inch alloy wheels. Most importantly, it includes factory-fitted rear-view cameras and Apple CarPlay integration, bridging the gap between its rugged roots and modern convenience.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Super Safari competes directly with the Toyota Land Cruiser 70-series, leading significantly in cabin comfort and highway refinement thanks to its coil-spring suspension. Its 4.8L TB48DE engine is widely regarded as one of the most reliable blocks ever sold in the Middle East, offering better parts availability than newer turbocharged rivals. The massive 135-litre fuel capacity gives it a range advantage for long-distance desert crossings where fuel stations are scarce.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 17.2 L/100km, reflecting its role as a heavy-duty, naturally aspirated workhorse designed for longevity rather than efficiency. Maintenance is straightforward, with 10,000 km service intervals supported by a massive network of authorized centers across every GCC country, from Saudi Arabia to the UAE. Resale value for the Super Safari is among the highest in the region, typically retaining 70-80% of its value even after several years of use.

Performance & Capability

The 4.8L inline-6 produces 280 hp and 451 Nm of torque, delivered through a robust 5-speed automatic transmission and a proper low-range transfer case. With approximately 210 mm of ground clearance and heavy-duty coil springs, it is designed to conquer the steepest dunes in Liwa or the Empty Quarter. On the highway, the long-stroke engine provides effortless overtaking power, a critical feature for fast-moving multi-lane traffic in the Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The 7-seat cabin is specifically engineered for the Middle Eastern climate, featuring a powerful dual-zone air conditioning system with dedicated rear cooling vents that maintain comfort even in 50°C heat. The interior is finished in premium tan leather, providing a durable yet upscale environment for family road trips. Modern touches like the touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and smartphone mirroring ensure long drives between cities remain connected and comfortable.

Safety

Standard safety features include dual front airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Brake Assist to handle sudden stops on sandy or paved surfaces. This trim is also equipped with cruise control for long desert highway hauls and a rear-view camera with parking sensors to aid visibility in a large-format SUV. The vehicle's heavy-duty body-on-frame construction provides a fundamental level of occupant protection and structural integrity designed for rigorous use.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast or family seeking the ultimate desert-proven icon, this ultra-low mileage Super Safari offers the perfect balance of legendary Y61 durability and 2024-model-year freshness.
