Summary

This 2024 Nissan X-Terra Platinum is a standout family SUV for the GCC, offering the perfect balance of modern tech and rugged body-on-frame durability. Its 40,886 km mileage reflects typical highway-heavy use for its age, while the crisp white exterior remains the most sought-after color in the region for heat reflection and market liquidity. As the top-tier Platinum trim, it provides a significantly more refined cabin experience than the base models, featuring advanced safety and premium infotainment standard. Whether you are navigating school runs in the city or weekend highway trips across the Emirates, this X-Terra delivers the reliability and comfort essential for the local climate.

This Car vs Other 2024 X Terras

With just over 40,000 km, this vehicle is well within the expected usage range for a GCC-based family SUV, where annual driving often exceeds 20,000 km due to inter-city highway travel. The white exterior is the strongest resale choice for the Middle East, ensuring it retains value and stays cooler during peak summer months. It represents a balanced opportunity for buyers seeking a near-new vehicle without the initial depreciation hit of a zero-km unit.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim elevates the X-Terra from a functional workhorse to a premium family cruiser, adding a larger 9-inch touchscreen with navigation and leather-appointed seating that is noticeably more supportive on long drives. It introduces the full suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, including a 360-degree Intelligent Around View Monitor and moving object detection, which are often absent on the SE and Titanium grades. Additionally, you get machine-cut 18-inch alloy wheels and an upgraded audio system that significantly enhances the cabin environment.

X Terra vs Segment Rivals

The X-Terra leads rivals like the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport in terms of ride refinement and cabin technology for the price point. While rivals are often more utilitarian, the Nissan offers a more sophisticated interior layout and a quieter highway cruise, which is a major advantage for residents who commute between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Its generous 78-liter fuel tank is specifically beneficial for long-distance desert highway drives common in the region.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L powertrain is engineered for durability and manages a combined fuel consumption of approximately 11.4 L/100km, which is competitive for a body-on-frame 7-seater in GCC stop-start traffic. Nissan maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and maintenance is convenient. Historical data suggests the X-Terra holds value well, typically seeing a lower annual depreciation rate than European equivalents due to its mechanical simplicity and local brand trust.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 243 mm ground clearance, the X-Terra is built to handle more than just paved roads, making it a capable companion for light desert camping and gravel trails. The 2.5L engine produces 165 hp and 241 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission designed for smooth power delivery during highway overtaking. Its body-on-frame construction ensures long-term structural integrity against the heat and harsh terrain of the Arabian Peninsula.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for 7 passengers, featuring theater-style seating that gives rear occupants a better view and dedicated rear A/C vents that are essential for the GCC summer. Platinum-exclusive leather seating and soft-touch materials create an upscale feel, while the 60/40 tumble second-row seats make accessing the third row effortless for families. Advanced acoustic glass helps isolate the cabin from wind noise during fast highway travel, providing a peaceful environment for all passengers.

Safety

This Platinum trim comes standard with an advanced ADAS suite, including Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, providing crucial protection on fast-moving multi-lane highways. It also features a 360-degree camera system that makes parking this large SUV in tight city spots remarkably easy. A comprehensive airbag system and stability control ensure peace of mind for family duty in all conditions.

The bottom line

For the GCC family seeking a tech-rich, reliable SUV that handles the desert heat and city life with equal ease, this Platinum-trim X-Terra is a smart, high-residual choice.
