Summary

This 2024 Nissan X-Trail S is a highly practical family crossover that bridges the gap between urban commuting and weekend adventures. At two years old with 48,181 km, it presents as a modern, high-value alternative to a new showroom model, benefiting from the latest T33-generation design and tech updates. The S trim in 4WD configuration is a smart choice for GCC buyers, offering the necessary traction for sandy terrains and rainy highway stretches without the complexity of higher-trim electronics. Finished in a versatile Blue that holds up well under the desert sun, this 7-seater remains one of the most trusted family vehicles in the region. Its reputation for reliable air conditioning and strong parts availability across the Emirates makes it a low-risk, high-reward investment for long-term owners.

This Car vs Other 2024 X-Trails

With 48,181 km on the odometer, this X-Trail has been driven roughly 24,000 km per year, which aligns perfectly with the GCC average for family SUVs used for inter-city commuting. While some listings may show lower city-only mileage, this vehicle's usage suggests healthy highway cycles, which is often better for the CVT transmission's longevity. The Blue exterior is a refreshing and practical choice that maintains a professional look while being easier to manage than darker shades in high-heat conditions.

S vs Lower Trims

The S trim serves as the essential entry point but, in this 4WD 7-seater configuration, it includes critical upgrades over the base 2WD 5-seater models. It features Nissan’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system with a dedicated selector for Snow and Off-road modes, making it much more capable for GCC desert excursions. Additionally, the inclusion of the third row provides the seating flexibility that family buyers in the region prioritize for resale value.

X-Trail vs Segment Rivals

The X-Trail leads rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V specifically in seating versatility, as it is one of the few in this compact-plus segment to offer a genuine 7-seat layout. Its 2.5L engine is specifically tuned for durability in the high ambient temperatures of the Middle East, often outlasting turbocharged competitors in long-term reliability. Furthermore, the X-Trail's air conditioning system is widely regarded as one of the most powerful in its class, a vital differentiator during the peak Gulf summer.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.5L 4WD variant typically averages around 7.8 to 8.5 L/100km, offering a respectable balance for a 7-seater during long drives between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Nissan enjoys one of the most comprehensive service networks in the GCC, ensuring that parts are affordable and maintenance is accessible from Muscat to Riyadh. The X-Trail historically retains 60-70% of its value after three years in the local market, significantly outperforming many American and European rivals in the same segment.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a naturally aspirated 2.5L 4-cylinder engine delivering 181 hp and 244 Nm of torque, this X-Trail provides smooth, predictable power through its Xtronic CVT. The 4WD system is intelligent, meaning it only engages the rear wheels when slip is detected, saving fuel during daily city driving but providing 210 mm of ground clearance for light trail work. It is perfectly suited for family road trips across the Emirates, providing a stable and quiet ride even at maximum highway speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC family logistics, featuring EZ Flex seating that allows the second row to slide and recline for optimal legroom or cargo space. With seven seats, it accommodates larger groups while the rear AC vents ensure all passengers stay cool during the 50°C summer months. The interior uses durable cloth upholstery that remains much cooler to the touch than leather when the car is parked in direct sunlight.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of the T33 generation, featuring a suite of standard protections including six airbags, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. These systems are particularly valuable on fast-moving multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The vehicle also includes Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control, providing extra security when navigating the inclined exits and gravel tracks common in the region's mountainous areas.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a late-model family SUV that balances 7-seat utility with proven Japanese reliability, this 2024 X-Trail S 4WD is the definitive choice. It represents a sensible opportunity to own a nearly-new, regional-spec vehicle with a complete service support network behind it.
