• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser EXR offers a compelling entry into the LC300 generation, balancing legendary durability with modern refinement. With 70,000 km, this vehicle has been broken in during its first two years of highway-focused use, perfectly suited for the GCC's long-distance driving culture. The white exterior is the most sought-after color for resale across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, effectively reflecting the desert sun while maintaining its market value. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a cooling system and powertrain tuned specifically for extreme regional temperatures. For the buyer who prioritizes the essential 4x4 hardware of a Land Cruiser without the premium of higher luxury trims, this EXR is the professional's choice.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

While 70,000 km is above the global annual average, it is typical for highway-heavy use in the GCC where vehicles often cover 30,000 km or more per year. The white exterior provides a significant advantage at resale compared to darker tones, as it is the most popular choice in the local used market. Choosing a 2024 model ensures you are driving the latest TNGA-F platform, which offers better handling and safety than previous generations.

EXR vs Lower Trims

The EXR trim serves as the balanced entry point for the LC300, adding essential features over the base GX such as a 9-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Unlike lower work-spec trims, the EXR includes a standard cool box in the center console—a vital feature for GCC summers—and upgraded alloy wheels. It retains the robust 6-speed automatic transmission which many local owners prefer for its proven reliability over newer complex gearboxes.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser leads with a 110-litre fuel tank capacity, offering superior range for cross-emirate trips or desert expeditions. It holds a distinct advantage in resale value retention, typically depreciating slower than its European rivals like the Land Rover Defender. The Toyota's body-on-frame construction and extensive service network across every GCC country make it a more practical choice for long-term ownership.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is a staple of the region, known for its ability to run reliably on local fuel grades with a combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.6 L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with the most extensive authorized service network in the Middle East, maintenance is convenient from Dubai to Riyadh. Land Cruisers traditionally retain 80-85% of their value after three years in the GCC market, making them one of the safest automotive investments.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 271 hp V6 engine, this Land Cruiser provides steady torque for both highway cruising and desert driving. Its off-road prowess is anchored by a genuine low-range transfer case and center differential lock, allowing it to navigate deep sands that stop soft-roaders. The 235 mm ground clearance and 32-degree approach angle ensure it is ready for weekend adventures at Jebel Jais or the Liwa dunes right out of the box.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin comfortably seats seven passengers across three rows, with a tri-zone climate control system designed to maintain low temperatures even when exterior heat exceeds 45°C. Practicality is a highlight, as the third-row seats now fold flat into the floor, a major improvement for the LC300 generation that maximizes cargo space. High-quality fabric upholstery stays cooler in the sun than leather, enhancing passenger comfort during peak summer months.

Safety

Safety is managed by a suite of active and passive systems including Electronic Braking Distribution, Vehicle Stability Control, and multiple airbags standard on this trim. For GCC highway driving, the included cruise control and crawl control systems provide assistance during both long commutes and technical off-road maneuvers. The robust ladder-frame chassis adds an inherent layer of passive safety and durability not found in unibody crossovers.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Land Cruiser is ideal for a family or professional who needs the ultimate Middle Eastern workhorse with the reliability of a naturally aspirated V6. It represents a smart opportunity to own the latest generation LC300 in the region's most popular resale color.
