Summary

This 2025 Kia Sportage EX represents a compelling opportunity to own a nearly-new SUV with only 85 km on the odometer, effectively offering a showroom-fresh experience at a used-market advantage. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the GCC, maintaining its look better against desert dust than darker shades while supporting strong resale value in local markets. As a European spec model, it features a refined cabin finish and high-quality materials often sought by discerning buyers in the UAE and wider region. With its capable all-wheel-drive system and modern tech suite, this Sportage is perfectly equipped for both the fast-paced multi-lane highways of Dubai and weekend trips across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2025 Sportages

With just 85 km, this vehicle sits at the absolute lowest end of the mileage spectrum for 2025 models, far below the GCC's typical annual average of 25,000 km. While many listings in the region are base LX trims, this EX version offers a significant leap in interior technology and comfort. The European regional spec provides a distinct alternative to the standard GCC or American imports, often noted for specific interior trim quality and standard lighting configurations.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim is widely considered the sweet spot in the lineup, upgrading the base 8-inch screen to a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen with built-in navigation and a wireless smartphone charger. It replaces standard cloth with durable SynTex-trimmed seats and adds essential GCC comforts like dual-zone automatic climate control and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Safety is also enhanced over the LX with the addition of blind-spot collision-avoidance and rear cross-traffic assist.

Sportage vs Segment Rivals

The Sportage leads rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V in available screen real estate and rear legroom, providing a more modern and spacious cabin environment for family use. Its 8-speed automatic transmission offers a more traditional and engaging feel compared to the CVTs found in many competitors. Furthermore, its generous boot capacity of approximately 1,121 litres behind the second row makes it one of the most practical haulers in the compact SUV segment.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L petrol engine is designed for reliability and is fully compatible with local fuel grades, returning efficient figures on long highway drives between Emirates. Kia has one of the most robust authorized service networks across the GCC, including major centers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring easy maintenance and parts availability. Historically, the Sportage maintains strong value retention in the UAE, typically seeing lower annual depreciation than its European luxury counterparts.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 187 hp 4-cylinder engine, the Sportage provides smooth acceleration for confident highway overtaking. The All-Wheel Drive system features selectable drive modes, including a Snow mode that is surprisingly effective for maintaining traction on loose sand or gravel surfaces during weekend escapes. With a ground clearance of approximately 210 mm (8.3 inches), it easily navigates high curbs and uneven terrain that stop standard sedans.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is focused on passenger comfort, featuring rear air conditioning vents that are crucial for maintaining cooling during the intense GCC summers. Acoustic glass helps insulate the interior from heat and road noise, providing a quiet environment during long-distance commutes. The EX trim's power-adjustable driver’s seat and dual-zone climate control allow for personalized comfort settings for both the driver and front passenger.

Safety

This Sportage EX comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite including forward collision-avoidance with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and driver attention warnings. Specifically useful for fast-moving GCC highway traffic are the blind-spot monitoring and safe exit warning systems. The vehicle also features a full complement of airbags and rear parking sensors to ensure safety in tight urban parking scenarios.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking a zero-mileage feel without the showroom premium, this Grey 2025 Sportage EX AWD offers the perfect balance of European refinement, advanced technology, and all-weather capability.
