Mercedes Benz G63 AMG STANDARD

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 4.3 seconds
• 577 hp from a handcrafted 4.0L V8 biturbo
• Three locking differentials with low-range gearing

Summary

This 2025 G63 AMG offers a compelling entry into the latest W465 generation, featuring the new 48-volt mild-hybrid system for sharper low-end response. With very low mileage for its year in the UAE market, this Japanese-spec unit provides a significant saving over local dealer prices while maintaining the iconic boxy silhouette and side-exit exhausts. The black exterior is the gold standard for resale value in the GCC, ensuring long-term demand. For a buyer looking for the most current tech updates, including the new MBUX touchscreen, without the premium of a zero-kilometer car, this is an excellent opportunity. Its performance-focused V8 makes it a dominant choice for both fast-moving highway commutes and weekend presence.

This Car vs Other 2025 G63 AMGs

With just 6,688 km, this G63 sits well below the typical 20,000 km annual average seen in the GCC, presenting an almost-new mechanical profile. The Japanese regional spec is a popular alternative in the UAE, often associated with meticulous maintenance and lower overall usage. The obsidian black finish is the most sought-after color for G-Wagons in the region, providing a faster exit and higher price floor at resale compared to niche matte or bright finishes.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The AMG G63 represents the top of the G-Class hierarchy, adding the handcrafted V8 biturbo engine over the G550's inline-six. Standard equipment at this level includes the AMG Speedshift TCT 9-speed transmission and the AMG-specific Panamericana grille with wider wheel arches. It also introduces high-performance braking systems and the side-exit exhaust system that defines the model's presence in GCC traffic.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Range Rover P530 and Lamborghini Urus offer more car-like handling, the G63 remains the only body-on-frame performance SUV with three independent locking differentials for genuine off-road supremacy. It provides 244 mm of ground clearance and a 900 mm wading depth, outclassing road-biased luxury SUVs in rugged terrain. The 99.9-litre fuel tank also provides a superior cruising range for long-distance travel between emirates compared to the smaller tanks in European sport SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically ranges between 14-16 L/100km, though heavy-footed city driving in Dubai or Riyadh traffic will see higher figures. The G63 holds the highest resale value in its segment across the GCC, often retaining over 80% of its value after the first three years. As a Japanese-spec vehicle, owners should verify service compatibility at local authorized centers, though the UAE has an extensive network of specialized independent garages capable of maintaining modern AMG powertrains.

Performance & Capability

A 0-100 km/h time of 4.3 seconds allows this 2.6-tonne SUV to outrun many sports cars, supported by 850 Nm of torque. The new-for-2025 mild-hybrid system adds a 20 hp boost that eliminates turbo lag, making highway overtaking effortless. For desert weekends, the low-range transfer case and selectable 'Sand' mode ensure it remains as capable on the dunes as it is on the asphalt.

Comfort & Cabin

The 2025 interior finally introduces the MBUX touchscreen system, resolving a primary request from GCC owners. The cabin features three-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents to handle 45°C+ summer heat, paired with standard heated and ventilated front seats. Acoustic glass significantly reduces wind noise during high-speed highway cruising, while the Burmester 3D surround sound system provides a premium audio experience for all five passengers.

Safety

This model comes standard with a full ADAS suite, including Active Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring, which are vital for the fast-paced, multi-lane highways of the UAE. The new 'Transparent Hood' function utilizes the 360° camera to show obstacles directly beneath the front axle, a key safety feature for both off-road navigation and tight urban parking. Adaptive Cruise Control and a robust set of airbags ensure high-level protection for family use.

The bottom line

This is the ideal pick for the buyer who wants the very latest 2025 tech and V8 performance in a high-resale black finish, while benefiting from the low-mileage advantage of a Japanese import.
