• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2025 Nissan Patrol SE Platinum City is a standout opportunity in the GCC market, offering the all-new Y63 generation's advanced luxury with the proven reliability of a naturally aspirated V6. As a one-year-old vehicle with 61,013 km, it has been utilized for the typical long-distance highway commutes common in the region, yet remains well within its mechanical prime. The Grey exterior is a highly sought-after, high-resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring strong value retention for the next owner. While many rivals have moved to complex turbo systems, this 3.8L powertrain offers a simpler, durable alternative for the extreme desert heat. For the GCC buyer, the combination of a flagship luxury trim and Nissan’s unrivaled parts availability makes this a practical yet prestigious choice.

This Car vs Other 2025 Patrols

At 61,013 km, this Patrol has covered more distance than the average 20,000–25,000 km annual GCC usage, likely due to frequent inter-emirate highway travel. However, because it is the all-new 2025 model, it benefits from the latest 9-speed transmission and significantly improved cabin tech compared to outgoing Y62 stock. The Grey finish is a major advantage here, as it is one of the top three resale colors in the region, holding value better than niche shades.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The SE Platinum City is the range-topping variant for the V6 engine, adding high-demand GCC luxuries like ventilated and heated front seats and a massive panoramic sunroof. Unlike the base XE or SE Titanium, this trim features the Biometric Cooling system that detects occupant temperature and the 12-speaker Klipsch premium audio system. It also includes the full ADAS safety suite and 20-inch machine-finished alloy wheels that aren't found on the lower workhorse trims.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300, the Patrol offers a more digitized 'Monolith' cockpit display and a larger 97-litre fuel tank, providing superior range for long desert traverses. Its naturally aspirated 3.8L engine produces 316 hp, comfortably outperforming the Land Cruiser's base 4.0L V6. The Patrol's interior refinement and standard 8-seat configuration remain the benchmark for large families across the Gulf.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.8L V6 engine is designed for long-term durability in 45°C+ temperatures, with real-world fuel consumption averaging 10.3 L/100km on the highway. Nissan's authorized service network is one of the most extensive in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with standard 10,000 km intervals that are cost-effective compared to European rivals. The Patrol historically retains approximately 85-90% of its value in the first two years in the GCC, making it one of the safest automotive investments in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 316 hp V6 engine is paired with a highly responsive 9-speed automatic transmission, offering smooth power delivery perfect for highway overtaking. For weekend adventurers, it retains its legendary off-road DNA with a dedicated low-range transfer case and selectable terrain modes for sand and rock. With a 700mm wading depth and high ground clearance, it is as capable at Liwa as it is refined on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Comfort & Cabin

The 8-seat cabin is a sanctuary from the heat, featuring tri-zone climate control and rear cooling vents that are essential for GCC summers. The Platinum City trim upgrades the experience with quilted leather upholstery and a 12.8-inch rear entertainment system to keep passengers occupied on long drives. The innovative 'Biometric Cooling' system is a segment-first, ensuring the cabin reaches a comfortable temperature faster than traditional systems after the car has been parked in the sun.

Safety

This trim is equipped with the Nissan ProPILOT suite, offering adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist which are invaluable for the long, straight highways of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It also features a 360° camera with a '3D Around View Monitor' and 'Invisible Hood View' to assist with parking this large SUV in tight city spaces. Active safety features like blind-spot intervention and predictive forward collision warning provide essential protection in fast-moving regional traffic.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a family buyer who wants the status and tech of the newest Patrol generation but values the mechanical simplicity of a non-turbo engine. Given its high trim level and strong resale color, it represents an excellent balance of luxury and long-term value retention.
